Press display (DISP.) button to turn the display on. This button is located on the rear of the camera and toggles the camera's LCD display. The button is usually printed with <DISP.> on the button or above the button depending on the model. display_button.gif If pressing the <DISP.> button doesn't turn the display on, remove and replace the batteries in the camera. If this still doesn't correct the issue, the camera may need to be evaluated by the Factory Service Center.

I switch the canon Ixus 60 on in camera mode and the LCD screen is blank. THe LCD screen works fine in video and review mode.

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

The back light has gone, no view now, just a black screen, the camera still takes a picture.

The screen on my camera will not display anything at all. The camera appears to turn on, but the screen is blank. Even when I switch it from one mode to another, there is nothing displayed on the screen

Have you tried taking pictures with it? Do the pictures show up when taken? If so, then it's likely that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

Blank screen

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP (Display) button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off in picture taking mode to save battery power. You could then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn it back on, just the DISP button one more time.

I have a Canon powershot SD1000 that no longer will show the picture on the viewing screen. The screen is completely black

Hi!

It's possible that you may have accidentally pressed the DISP button to disable the LCD. Please try to press the DISP button after you switch on the camera. If the display does not show up on the first press, try pressing the button twice or until the LCD turns on.

Please let me know if it fixed the problem , or not so that we can try other options.

Good luck and have a nice day!
