You have a defective T-Con board. The small board near the top center of tv. Can not give you the part number without knowing your TV model. Depending on model $50-120 for part.

SOURCE: Sony KDL40S2010 Bravia LCD TV... turns off / on on it's own

If TV does not remain in standby and turns on itself then power switch on top of it could be defective and power supply board is also suspected. Take off its back cover and unplug top switch connector just to confirm is that cause of On-Off its own. If problem still exist then power supply board has problem and will be replaced. Let me know the results to move forward.

SOURCE: my sony bravia digital channels always drop out of

For tuner problems, especially the digital channels, you should check for a TV firmware update at www.sonystyle.com. I was having some strange loss of digital channels on our 40" Bravia, starting with channels only appearing for a second before the screen produced a 'No Signal' message. After we tried the automatic retuning, then we could not even get the one second signal. None of this appeared on the description of the download. However, we downloaded the patch to our PC, loaded the file (19 MB) onto a small flash drive, which we then used to upgrade the firmware in the TV. All our digital tuner problems disappeared!!

SOURCE: 40" Sony Bravia has intermittent audio failure.

I have a KDL-46VL130 with the same problems. Audio on the HDMI connection turns on and off intermittently when I have it connected with my ATT Uverse rcvr. I check w/ Sony online support and they led through the standard troubleshooting process ... which I knew going in would not fix the problem. Ultimately they told me to try a new HDMI cable first, or try a different video source for the HDMI, other than my ATT U-Verse reciever and see if the problem persists. Having seen other articles on this issue, i am almost certain that is not going to fix the problem... and to think that I paid $2000 for this thing.

That's a problem. If it's still in warranty you're in luck. Either take it back to the store, or call Sony to have it repaired under warranty. If it's out of warranty they can send a third party servicer to your home to the tune of $400 labor (in 2008) plus parts in the US. I will say this much, if it turns out to be an LCD panel issue, the panel will cost about the same as the TV itself when it was new.

The issue you describe sounds like the scan frequency isn't right for the video you are watching. In other words, it should be 720P and it is running at 1080P instead, and you wind up with a horizontal fold-over type of line.

That makes that new OLED TV a little more enticing!

What colour connecting cable from camera to tv

Normally and standard, it's the yellow head cable. But sometimes if the yellow one doesn't work. Then try others. This won't hurt your TV or the camera.

Hello
Your TV has degaussing problem I thinks. There is a coil fitted around the screen, through which an AC supply is fed each time when you switch on the set, and it will last only for about 3 microseconds or so, to demagnatize your picture tube. In specific timing is accieved by the help of a "Posistor" usually called as degassing posistor. If it fails to work, the fault you have mentioned will occur. If you turn your TV in an other direction, say if it is paced east-west, turn it to south-north, the colour change now you see will be in an other state.
You just open your TV. The said posistor can be located on the power section of your TV. It will be normally black in color, looks very like a small chocolate. There are two types of posistors are used by Sony. One type has only two connections, and the other have three. You just replace it, it is very easy job. Just desolder it out, and go for a same type of posistor. It is quite normal fault in all TVs. OK.
