Ensure the lid is on the pot as it pushes up a plunger to allow the coffee to drip when it it properly seated under the filter assembly.

Hi,

The problem is often that the machine develops a leak in the hose that is rightover the transformer...the water drips onto the transformer and kills that...then you have no power to run the machine.

Here is a tip that I wrote about this problem...

Your problem is 1 of 2 things. Thermostat or Keep warm element. You have to take the pot apart to test. Parts are at repairshop.com or eBay under Farberware coffeepot parts. Good luck Ron

Coffeemaker is falling apart

Unless the product is still under warranty, I would look for a new different brand. I have personally used a 'Mr Coffee' unit with similar features and with the exception of periodic cleaning with water/white vinegar solution, it has worked fairly well. The pot dribbles a little if not carefully poured and if the basket is not fully seated, coffee runs all over. Everyone has had a turn at dealing with poorly made/designed products that fail to meet expectations. Better luck next time!

I have the same leaking problem. I just called Hamilton Beach and gave them the model and serial numbers. They are sending me a new "gasket" complimentary but she said if that doesn't work, I'll have to order a whole new coffee tank.
