Leaking of oil in a stand mixer is not necessarily indicative of a large problem.

Kitchenaid stand mixers are overpacked with oil to last the lifetime of the motor. If the motor sits idle for some time (is not used), the oil may begin to drip from the gears and settle. Oil leakage may primarily be seen from around the beater shaft or planetary action.

A stand mixer can lose up to a 1/4 cup of oil before it needs to be serviced.

It is recommended to run the mixer on speed 10 for 2 minutes in order to redistribute oil back into the motor. In order to prevent future occurences, this is recommended to be done every 3 weeks if mixer is not being used.

How it is done so that the axes of a blender or mixer, and especially the ones of the propeller of a submarine, under great pressure, not leak the liquid?

Good question.
Axles are generally left with cars and trucks.
That's because an axle transfers energy to more than one place by means of gears and cogs, like to a pair of driving wheels at right angles to the power direction..
What you refer to are spindles, prop shafts and other things.
For the sake of simplicity, the seals you speak of are made of rubber rings held by metal bands around the spindle squeezed very tight with oil trapped around the joint. That keeps the water out most of the time.
In bigger machines, the oil seal is often made from a tough kind of leather (true !) ...leather is a really good water proof material under heavy pressure and heat providing it's kept "wet" by oils or waters.
Blenders spindles tend to use rubber "O" rings around the shaft because there's not much pressure, it's enough to keep your milkshake from leaking into the blender.

Cuisinart stand mixer making grinding noise. What is it and are there directions for fixing/replacing it?

inside those mixtures there is grease or oil to keep the gears running smoothly. look on your counter or where it is stored and look for grease or oil. if there is then your best bet is to find a repair shop. ask where you got it from, they should be able to hlp.

Ticking sound in kitcheaid mixer

Remove the planetary and see if the noise vanishes, if not then you will need to open up the gearbox. It could be the pin retaining the fuse gear or maybe even the fuse gear itself failing. It seems unlikely though as you were only whipping cream and there is no effort in that.

Have had my Vita-mix 5000 for several years with no problems. Now, it leaks oily, black liquid around the base, and jerks erratically when the blender is set on the lowest setting (#1 of 10)/variable.

Is it getting hot when you operate it? If you run a mixer for a long
time, the motor will get very warm. On the older units, when the
motor overheats, the various parts of the motor and its container
may start to melt. Mixer motors are not designed to last forever and
a replacement motor may be available from the manufacturer.
Another way is to purchase another similar mixer as you can on
eBay and swap parts.

My Oster blender is leaking oil. Is it safe to use? How do I get it to stop leaking? I haven't used it since last Thanksgiving, so it has been about a year since the last use.

There is a great guy on Gerrard street in Toronto, who can fix mixer grinders and has parts also like breaker/reset switch etc.
The store is called Appliances 220, Ph # 416-778-9908.
Hope this helps.

There is a leak in the caraffe(or jar). It is at

Common issue with all of these carafe's. Once the jar starts to leak the bearings are shot and it is time to replace the jar. The bearings are non-replacable. Bad design in my opinion. I was able to get my last jar (I have been through 3 before the 5 year warranty went out) to last by hand washing and not putting it in the dishwasher, but after 4 years of use on this jar it failed too.
