My friend plugged his iphone into my docking station and ever since then the sound has stopped working when ever i plug my iphone into it? I tried to find a re-set button but couldn't. Any idea's?

Sometimes the connectors on the dock get bent. Look to see if anything looks out of place. Unplugging the unit is a reset left unlugged for a couple of hours. If you need repairs try esupport.sony.com. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the iHome frying the Ipod.
Your iHome, has most likely fried the mainboard on your ipod.
to check plug a usb into the ipod and connect to the computer.
if it comes up disconnect the usb and try a headphones in the jack.
if it doesn;t play sound its fried and you will need a new mainboard.
if it does play through the headphone jack, your lucky and keep it off the dock.

I have fixed at least 30 ipods taken out by ihome docks and other docks.
they are terrible for the ipod. Even Apple sells the docks on their website
that shows how much they care about the product.

If this helps leave a vote on fixya

Bose ipod speakers not working just no sound it is powering up

Hello,

Try the fallowing

First things first, unplug the SoundDock. Plug it back in and try again. Then take the Dock insert out....and try it again. If that doesnt work check the power cable. A common problem is that people plug it in the wrong way into the Bose SoundDock. If that still doesnt fix your problem. Bring the product to your nearest bose store if its still in warranty. If not, call 1(800)644-2673.

Hope this helped please rate.

Speakers won't work when Ipod is docked

The problem is that Atlec Lansing used a low quality (piece of ****) plug/interface for the dock. If you pull the top of the ipod forward while it is pressed fully onto the docking station, you'll get a surprise. It will work. This problem stumped me for days. Now, the next question is how much tension is the proper amount not to degrade the cheap plug further or damage the ipod itself.

Cheers,
Jeff

Speaker doesnt give sound

Based on the fact that you have put a headset in and another speaker system and it is working properly there is nothing wrong with your windows settings. I would leave them alone. The issue appears to be with the hardware. Have you attempted to plug the speakers into another source (ie. cd player, ipod, etc)? If you plug them in there and they don't work, take the speakers back and have them exchanged. If they're not under warranty you're going to have to either get them fixed or replace them. Good luck on this one! JC
