I've had this problem several time. Usually I fix it with a q-tip!
Open the top of the printer and locate the correct toner cartridge. Pull the (blue) lever on the right side of the cartridge toward you to disengage it from the drum. Gently life the toner cartridge out of the printer.
On the right end (the end with the blue lever) there's a small slot. You should see some white plastic in there. Use the qtip to clean off any dirt or toner.
Now replace your toner cartridge and slide the blue lever back to the original position. Close the top.
This USUALLY fixes the problem. (I must stress "usually" because I'm having the problem right now and this procedure won't fix it, but I've fixed it with this method a dozen times before.)

Check the little switch/door on the left hand side of the drums.
This has worked successfully for me.
After replacement of a C3530 Image Drum, the message, "Toner Sensor Error" is displayed.
The plastic shutter in the ID is fully or partially covering the toner sensor window.
Move the cover upward to allow for the sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the drum.

Check in your toner cartridge that the small white square next to the blue panel is clean. if this is dirty then the sensor wont work properly giving you this message.

As the toner cartridge sits in the drum unit, the toner sensor outputs signal to drum unit which in turn conveys it to the printer via electrical contacts.
Try cleaning the contacts that are located on both sides of the corresponding drum unit, and also the contacts protruding from the sides of the drum socket inside the printer. Also reseat the toner in the drum.
If this doesn't solve the problem, try swapping two drum units - if the error now moves to the other color, than there's something wrong with the toner cartridge or the drum, and you have to find out if it's a contact problem between the toner and the drum, or perhaps the toner cartridge is defective - happened to me once.
If the error doesn't move to the other color, it means that something's wrong with the printer contacts - either they are dirty or dead, because of static electricity or something, and the printer needs servicing.

In most cases you need to use a can of air and blow out all around your toner and drum area. Then used it inside the printer to clean out the toner inside of the machine. If this doesnt work take out all 4 anc clean everything very well.
