i'd check the drain pump-there is a seal where it attaches to the motor-leaks often there, also could be a leak in your tub seal between the tub and transmission, also sometimes the outter plastic tub gets a crack in it and leaks

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France

Here are my complete, pre-typed, general guidance notes for balance ;-0)
-------------------------
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly!
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine (sorry about my UK spelling!) and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.

If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal drum suspension is malfunctioning.

Good luck,

John C

What causes a ge profile washer top load not to shut off water and moreless has a mind of its own

not shutting of water is a common fault there is a problem with your water level indicating valve in most cases the pipe has a block or has a nick in it leaking air the last problem is normally the valve so check that the valves hoses are connected at both ends try blowing the pipe out and make sure there are no nicks in the pipe

best of luck

Our GE Profile dryer keeps shutting off, regardless of setting, after it has run for 4 or 5 min. Could it be overheating or maybe the vent to the outside is clogged?

it certainly sounds to me like a blocked vent issue somewhere along the line and in order to prevent a fire the safety thermostat shuts the heater off. are you saying the dryer stops altogether, not just the heat?

I have a GE PDW8060GSS dishwaser. The washer does not turn on. The "anti bacterail" swith keeps blinking. There is some water standing inside the washer. Tried draining, but water keeps coming back. Not...

If after draining water comes back then you need to check the waste water system for any cloughs. Problem might even be at the dwelling drainage system as any blockages would prevent water from going out from washer. Check the waste hose, filter and pump. clean them all if needed.

Best of luck

Washer is most likely trying to fill with cold rinse water and the inlet screen is blocked or the cold water solenoid is bad. If you set washer to wash cold only it will not fill or fill very slowly. When you set it to warm or hot you are getting almost all hot. Clean inlet screen or replace inlet water valve.
