Question about Kyocera FS-2000D Laser Printer

Open Question

Printer does not detect paper is in up position

Full tray loaded but when tray lifts, it doesn't want to stop...gears just start clicking as it doesn't know the tray has lifted and just keeps trying to lift further.

Paper jam in number two how to clear same?

The paper paths on these types of printers work in a simalar maner not knowing where your jam is is going to be a bit difficult.
Does the paper tray lifting gear on the rear of the paper tray work correctly, remove the tray and load with paper. There should be a gear on the rear of the tray, turn it with your hand and the paper should lift. If that doesn't work, check for broken lifting gears on the tray. Alternately if the trays don't have lift gears then if lifting is done internally in which case try to look if the paper has been raised up to the feed rollers. Before you remove the tray you have to look inside and investigate.
In my experience a difficult to find piece of paper usually cause the problem.
Good luck with the problem.

Does not detect tray

Look inside the machine, down the back of the paper tray, can you see any sensors that could detect if the tray has been installed.
Has there been any external damage to your paper tray, does the paper lift when you turn the paper lift gear by hand.
Try those points first.
Good Luck.

Cannon mp530 says load paper when paper is loaded

Paper not loaded error is displayed by the printer when the printer doesn't detect any paper. Here try this one.
  • Make sure that your paper is properly inserted.
  • If properly inserted and still the printer doesn't detect it. Try putting more amount of paper in the tray.
  • Be sure that there are no damaged paper in the tray.
  • Clean the rollers using a cotton buds and a clean water.
  • Now try printing again.
Hope my solution will help. Thanks for using fixya.

My MFC8460N Brother won't print. It makes this

Gears on the tray is broken, or the gears that lift the tray. (thus the clicking noise). And the no paper is due to the actuators underneath not being activated because of the non lift.

When the paper tray is installed there is a series of clicks and noises until eventually the message comes up "no paper". Checking inside the machine there is a plastic gear that turns on the left side...

Usually that happens when the tab at the inside edge of the paper tray is too tight on the paper. When you turn that gear it should lift the paper easily. Also the lever inside next to the feed roller could be out of position, it should lift easily to indicate paper present. When it is pulled forward by a paper jam it locks and stops the paper.

Im having canon ir400 copier.in first cassete im using A4 size paper.it was wrking fine.Suddenly m/c doesnt detecting the first tray.ITS SHOWING '' LOAD PAPER''.even i've loaded a paper...

First I would pull the paper tray out and look for a wade of paper jamed behind the paper tray or jamed in the paper path above the cassette. Another problem could be that the tray is not lifting. If you take the second tray out and reinstall the first tray can you look under the tray and see it raise up or does it make a noise and not lift. It could be the rachet gear is broken that lifts the paper up. These are just a few ideas.. Good Luck

Brother hl 4040cn will not load paper from tray loud clicking noise coming from paper tray on dislplay it says no paper

Remove main tray. Check adjustable paper back stop. If the backstop is set so that the paper sit too tightly in the tray....it will prevent the spring loaded front portion of the tray to lift up allow paper to contact the pickup roller. The clicking sound you hear is the paper lift mechanism trying to push up the paper. Arrange both backstop and sidestops to allow some movement of paper in tray.

Brother MFC-8460N ... No Paper response

I had the same problem with a customer, to resolve this issue:

> Go to the printers folder
> Right click on the printer
> Go to printing preferences
> Under the paper source settings change it from autoselect to Tray1 and save the settings.

This will force the printer to print to tray1.

That fixed it for me, hope it works for you too.
