I just replaced battery.Auto start not working,does auto start have to be re programed!

Did you recently replace the battery or require a jump start?

Headlamps (power relays) are under direct control of the BCM. If there are no CEL/MIL codes and high beams work, then it's most likely a BCM program issue.

Regardless of MIL/CEL, you might try disconnecting the battery ground, wait 10 minutes, reconnect and see if the problem clears.

If the CEL/MIL is active then have ODBII codes read.

Take the fob completely apart and clean al the parts with glass cleaner, than with water, let it dry and should work ok.

There is an error in the manual. Following the directions will, as you discovered, start brewing immediately.

To complete the auto-start programming, in step 8 of "Programming Auto-Start" you should NOT "press the PROGRAM button."

Instead, as soon as you have set the desired minute of the Start Time (step 7 in the manual), press the START / CANCEL button.


The LCD screen will then dim and display 'PROGRAM ON' to indicate that the Auto-Start feature has been successfully turned on.

HB88RC is discontinued timer, replaced by 2-outlet HB800RCL or 1-outlet HB800RCH.
Timer functions should work in AUTO.
Try resetting timer by removing AA battery, reinstall fresh battery, and then reprogram timer.
When programming is finished, press clock button and timer should be in AUTO mode and current time displayed.
If you want to change mode, then press mode button. When exiting mode, press clock button and timer should be back in AUTO mode.
If functionality does not restore, then timer has gone bad.

First, I suggest check the fuses of the ignition system, also check the charge battery (car), its possible that this isn't charge to start the vehicle, but can work the lock and unlock motor (less voltage).

In this link, check the 2006-Chevrolet-Impala owners manual (page 340 and next) to find the fuses position and description.

Is the battery was discharged, its possible that you need re-programming this lock/unlock/start device

Other possibilitie could be the starter. Test it.

First remove and clean battery terminals with a battery post/terminal cleaning tool purchased at an auto parts store. Be sure to wear safety glasses when working on batteries if car still won't start after cleaning the batteries connections remove the battery bring it to a advance auto parts store where they will check the battery to see if it needs replacing. If the battery is good and the connections are clean and tight and the car still won't start replace the starter.

Try to see if you have 5volts for your EEPROM. If the voltage is normal try to replace your EEPROM or try to reprogram it. Your EEPROM is corrupted so that's why it will not store data.
