I have a Rowe AMI 100 cd jukebox. The right side speaker will play for about 3 songs and then go out. Other speakers continue ti work. Is this a speaker problem or something else?

Make sure all the wiring is secure, you may have a bad coil on the speaker, then you need your amplifier checking by someone competent

Speaker sound issue

It sounds like something has loosened up inside the speaker. Try putting the speaker on it's side and see if the intermittent problem goes away. If it does, that would indicate that there is something that needs to be tightned or re-soldered to solve the problem.

15 year old receiver says protect how do i reset?

Hi, I start with one question..
Have it started to do this suddenly or you after have changed something on the system ?
i.e ..speaker position , or speaker cables or anything ?
The reason I asked ,your description is directly relates to short circuit on the speakers and/or it's
wires ..Receivers protection circuit activates itself if there is a short either inside (less probability )
and speakers (mostly )..
in case you have not changed any cabling recently ,I recommend you to check anyway all of the speakers wires at both sides/ends (Receiver side and Speaker side )
carefully ..
please let me know if you wish to have more help
but with more description...

Speakers are mounted on the side of tv (mitsubishi CS 40503 1995 model) want to remove them and have them in a different location

"Speaker: Internal/External" controls which speaker (built-in or external) is available. Set to "Internal" for normal operation of the internal speaker system. When connected to external speakers or an external audio system, the speakers can be turned off by setting this function to "External."

From reading this I see that the speakers may be internal because the setup allows to switch between external or internal. A mounted speaker is either permanent, part of the case, or has something that the speaker case slips into. I had one like that. You simply lift them and set them else where. How far they can be moved will depend on the wire. The wire is either attached internal through the back or attached via connectors on the back. That can either be loose wire or RCA plugs. Normally the wire coming from the speakers is attached internal, making the removal of them impossible. The wire is usually 3 to 6 feet long. You can buy an external speaker wire that has RCA plugs (and or plain wire) that will attach to the existing speaker wire and TV.

Good luck and post back

My speakers worked at one point now they dont please tell me whats wrong

If both speakers failed at the same time, then I bet you changed a setting on the amplifier. This setting probably has something to do with either:
  • the sound input (tuner, CD, tape, aux, etc...)
  • the sound output (only if you have multiple possible outputs)
If one speaker failed, then the other speaker failed I would check your speaker wire and the connections on each side of the wire. It is possible that the wires were bumped, and pulled out enough to lose contact, or the connections could have corroded. Either way, this is fixable, just make metal contact and your speakers will be up and running again.
If your speakers started acting weird before they failed, then you may have blown them out, in which case you should buy new speakers.
If none of these situations apply, then your amplifier broke, and you need a whole new system.
I hope this was helpful.

I want to connect the audio output of my Dell

The connector on the Dell side is a 1/8" (or 3.5mm) stereo connector, and is a standard mini headphone connector as used on iPods and other devices.

The connector on the Sony side is either another 3.5mm connector, in which case you want something like this cable, or it's dual RCA jacks, in which case you want something like this cable.

Neither of those are great prices -- you can easily find cheaper versions at any Wal-Mart or Radio Shack store, but they're examples of what you'll need.

Speakers not playing correct on a Pioneer SX-550

It could be the speaker output or the amp input. If you have a headphone socket on the amp try headphones and hear if it's the same problem.

If it's the amp's power output then this can be repaired. It's a case of unsoldering the blown transistor or integrated amp chip and soldering in a new one. It's not hard but you need to find someone competent.
