My Panasonic Projection tv is acting weird. The picture is elongated then goes back to normal, it also starts shaking then goes back to normal, and the new symptom today, it's very snowy. Is it worth to repair it?
Since the set seems to recover for short periods of time, it suggests bad connections rather than defective components. If you have a local service shop that can "resolder" a number of poor solder joints for not too much $$,. then this should be cheap. It is unlikely that a board needs replacing although it is possible. The static in the channels needs further investigation. If it is the same on all channels, there is likely a problem with the tuner. If it is localized to a group of channels, then check all your cable connections. A bad ground will show up as static in some channels with others appearing normal.
