Question about Mitsubishi WD-60C9 60" DLP HDTV

6039 keeps blowing projection bulb

I replaced the projection bulb twice. I bought a cheaper bulb from amazon. Could it be the replacement bulb or something more serious. I have noticed that it gets extremely hot in the location where the bulb is. Was wondering if it was even worth trying to keep on fixing? its a great TV when its working. The first cheap bulb popped in a few days and the second lasted a few weeks. Like I had said they were cheaper replacdement bulbs. I was able to to get my money back with the warranty so no real lose except I cant watch the TV. Any suggestions? Thanks Enginemanshawn

Not sure how long you have had this unit. If it is still under warranty your first call should be to the dealer who sold the unit. It may be part of a bad batch. The dealer should take responsibility for replacing the unit or contacting the manufacturer/distributor. Don't let them tell you it's not their problem. They sold you the item your contract is with them. They bought it from the distributor so they deal with them and the distributor deals with the manufacturer so they deal with them.

Are you maintaining the unit correctly? The filters need to be cleaned regularly, especially in a home environment where a lot of dust can clog the vents causing the unit to overheat.

Plenty of airflow is needed to keep the bulb cool so this is vital.

Cheap bulbs will not last as long as original parts but they should still have a 'rated hours value' under normal use.

My convergence keep going out, I replaced the convergence twice. I have a rca hd52w59 modle

When you say replaced the convergence twice, are you refering to the convergence boards or the FL231 fuse? If its the FL231 fuse unless you replaced the DL231 and CL230 plus reflowed the solder on the flyback it will continue to keep blowing untill the 3 parts are replaced together and the flyback gets resoldered. If you replaced the convergence boards then try resoldering the flyback.

StopLight/Brake Light burns out about every other month

have you checked the fuses they should burn out so the bulb doesn't try putting a lower amp fuse in, even if it keeps blowing it is cheaper and easier to replace

I have a tv problem with a panasonic PT- 50lc13

Hello!! Yes there is a possibility that the lamp might be defective. Bulbs don't usually blow up, the life spand of your bulb is going to depend of you, of how much the tv's on. The bulbs that go out most of the time are the generic ones, I recommend that if you buy one, get a philips they're pretty good bulbs and they give you between 6-8 thousand hours, i've bought some bulbs from discountdashmerchantdotcom they have pretty reasonable rates and also a six month warranty, and omg the service they offer is great. try contacting them.

Sony KDS-R50xBR1 Needs projection lamp replaced

I bought a True replacement from the PartsStore through Amazon.com and it cost me about $185, but it was a Phillips bulb and the full cartridge replacement. I went with the aftermarket bulb only replacement the first time, lasted less than a week and haven't resolved that issue yet.

Sony SXRD 60 in. won't power on

You need to replace your DLP lamp...easy fix that you can do yourself.  If, you buy from the Sony website it will cost more.  Try looking online and make sure the lamp is Sony Certified Replacement part and you should find the bulb by itself for $90 - $120 or cheaper or in a rebuilt housing for approx. $160.00

My picture keep fading in and out.

You need a new bulb. It is a DLP lamp, part number 915P020010. You can buy just the bulb for $130 at dlplampexpress.com or the entire housing unit with the bulb already installed for about $368 on Amazon. The company who you purchase the bulb from will usually send directions on how to replace just the bulb or the entire housing unit. It is very easy.
