Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
Joystick PS2 . One controller if I plug it in , just does random stuff and moves the character randomly without me touching it and if I plug the second controller (wich works) the second one won't work at all .
This is usually a matter of cleaning. If the nodes on either your controller end or the system itself are dirty you could have a bad connection that would cause your controller to all kinds of wacky stuff. Use some cleaner like alcohol and a q-tip and clean the ends. If that doesn't work your proabably better off buying a new controler then trying to fix it.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: PSP joystick messed up
Okay This has happen to me and what it is the joystick is off track. I'm not saying you guys are handling your psp roughly but it does happen. You can try to repair the joystick yourself.
But the best bet is to buy a new one. Doesn't cost much and it is not hard to do. I paid $3 for a replacement. Word of advice if you are buying a generic brand you may want to buy at least three of then just in case one or more of them are doa (dead on arrival) you never know. Will save to time in returning and waiting for a replacement.
If you want please ask and I will post a how to for repair of your OEM joystick. This doesn't always work but what the hell it's worth a shot.

SOURCE: PS froze on start
If it is only one disk, clean the underside ot the disk with cd cleaner and try again if problem persists, the disk may be defective or the unit may have problems.
If all disks do this, there is most likely a problem with the system call 1-800-345-sony for assistance.
This was in the manual which was printed 9 years ago, so if the number has changed or they no longer cover the ps1, i whouldn't know what to do if cleaning the blue lens thingy doesn't fix the problem.

SOURCE: please help asap!!!!!!!!!!
I would suggest to toggle the "analog" button on and off to see if that fixes the problem. If not then try a different controller. Try it with different games as well(make sure discs are clean!!) If that does not work then your playstation has a malfunction and needs to be repaired if it is worth it to you.
Sorry!! GOOD LUCK!!

SOURCE: PSP joystick won´t work
It should work fine without it. Make sure you keep that little clear rubber part safe. It's what fills the gap between the analog stick and the motherboard on the PSP
