THE BELT TRANSMITS THE MOTOR POWER TO THE DRIVE MECHANISM TO MOVE ALONG THE TRACK TO LIFT THE DOOR. EITHER THE MECHANISM IS JAMMED OR THE DOOR SPRINGS ARE BROKEN SO THERE IS TOO MUCH FORCE ON THE BELT AND IT SHREDS.. TRY LIFTING THE DOOR IT SHOULD GO UP EASILY IF THE SPRINGS WORK. IF THE DOOR IS VERY HEAVY THEN THE SPRINGS NEED FIXING

Sounds like either the belt is not tight or more likely your door balance is heavy ie fatigued/broken springs or its hung up somewhere.

2000 ford zx2 shreded serpentine belt in half while driving after replacing car wont start

More detail would be helpful. By not start, that could mean the engine rotates but won't start or you turn the key and nothing happens.

Since you do have a 2000 model I can tell you that they had issues in that model year with crank walk. The thrust bearing in some engines was too small and would allow the crank the move side-to-side (transversely) in the block. Some symptoms included knocking, engine dying on turns, timing or serpentine belt failure....

Timming belt shreded, do you think hurt anythig ,head valves ect. how mutch to fix 1997mazda millenia

Hi More than likely, most of the Mazda range are identified as an interference, in other words when the timing belt breaks or slips the pistons will hit the valves, my advice change the belt and then compression test the cylinders before removing the head just in case god smiled on you,

My jeep keeps shreding serpentine belt

Either the tensioner is defective and needs replacing, or the pulleys are out of alignment. I would suspect the tensioner pulley is bad. I am assuming you are installing the correct belt.

2000 Plymouth grand voyager ticking issue

YOU NEED TO ISOLATE TICK TO FRONT OR REAR BANK OF ENGINE..A MECHANIC'S STETHOSCOPE CAN HELP YOU ISOLATE..THEN REMOVE FRONT OR REAR VALVE COVER AND PUSH ON EACH ROCKER ARM..IF A LASH ADJUSTER(LIFTER)IS BAD,IT WILL BE SOFT OR COMPRESS WHEN YOU PUSH ON IT..LIFTERS ARE IN ROCKER ARMS ON A 3.0L AND IN BLOCK ON 3.3 AND 3.8L ENGINES

Does the distributor turn? Some of the old serpentine belt might have got into the timing belt and broke it.
