Question about GPS
I tried AC wall charger, cigarette lighter in car and also usb cable to laptop. It still won't charge
Get a small bright flashlight, and a magnifying glass if you have on and look into the charging port on the back of your nuvi.
you should see 4-6 small gold strips on a bar.if they look corroded you may need a new unit, if they are dirty find a tooth pick and some rubbing alcohol and gently clean off the contacts,
if that does not fix the problem , then your charging port is bad on the nuvi.

Testimonial: "Thanks Joey for your time and reply. Tried this. But not luck. My mini usb charging port actually looks clean. My unit is only a year plus old. Any way to replace the charging port? Would replacing the battery be a good idea?"
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had the same problem. My Nuvi 350 did not power up for a couple of days. I suspected moisture to be the culprit. So I took my wife's hair dryer and blew hot air(in the intermediate setting) into the SD card slot in the GPS for a couple of minutes. Take care not to overheat the GPS or Screen.
Pronto my GPS powered up without any issues.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Charging a garmin nuvi 255w
From dead flat it takes about 9-10 hours
do not leave on charger for more than that otherwise you will overheat and burn it out.
After each use recharge for about 3-4 hours depending on whether the unit has been used for that lengthyof time

You should try to manually delete the maps (after a backup ) on the device , power cycle and retry sending the maps from MapSource or the Software CD from the manufacturer. The map is a single folder onto the device (eg. gmapsupp.img)

You have a short in the wire that runs to your unit. Other than holding the wire in the exact location until your charge is complete you would be better off replacing the charging cord. They should be available at your local shop for around $19-$29.00.

if you dont have the original charger, the 750 take a special car charger because of the traffic feature...it has a flat end about 3/4" to 1" long that fits in the cradle, but you can use a garmin usb charger, you just wont be able to use the traffic feature.
if thats a little confusing ( i tend to do that) i try and explain it another way.
if you think you need or want one of those chargers, just post back to me.
