Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I can print some screens but not others especially emails on my laptop. Why should this be?

I've tried covering the text in blue, whatever that's called, but it doesn't seem to help.

Enlarge text size

Create Menu tab right click in the top of screen (toolbar) you will see a number of toolbar options select the menu bar
This will add to your screen toolbar File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help select the View from the drop down list will be a Zoom with percentages % and text sizes largest to smallest and Full screen option
Increase the Font Size in Email
Email font size is easily controlled while composing messages, but the messages you receive have been sized by the sender.
Some contacts may be perfectly comfortable writing in size 8, but such text can be a strain on the eyes, even with good reading glasses.
The printed hard copies of email messages with small text are even more difficult to read.
There are a few ways to quickly change font size for ease of reading and better quality print-outs.

Open an email message with particularly small text. Increase the email font size of the text using step 2, 3 or 4.
Click on the "View" selection from the menu bar.
Roll the mouse pointer over the "Zoom" choice.
Click on one of the choices that is greater than 100 percent.
Click "View" and cover "Zoom" to make a larger choice if the first choice does not increase the text size sufficiently.

Click the "View" option on the menu bar. Roll the cursor over the "Text Size" selection.
Choose one of the options that will increase the text size.
For instance, if the current size marked with the dot is "Medium," then click "Larger" or "Largest" to make the print appear bigger.

Use a mouse with a wheel to increase the email font size.
Press and hold the "Ctrl" key while rolling the wheel on the mouse.
The text will shrink as you roll in one direction, and grow bigger as you roll in the other.

Change font size before printing.
Click the "File" option on the menu bar.
Click "Print Preview."
Click the "Size" drop down which may display "100%," or "Shrink to fit."
Select a choice greater than 100 percent to increase text size.
Click the "Print" button to view the results on a hard copy.

Okay so I have the Samsung intel windows 7 laptop an recently I've recieved the blue screen if death, and when I try to enter the safe menu by pressing 'F8' nothing happens its just stays on...

Remove all USB attached devices like drives.

To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC, open case, and remove all RAM. Test one DIMM at time, one slot at a time.

Boot with a Win 7 disc, and choose Repair Your Computer. Then use Startup Repair option. Re-install Windows. Clean install works best, but all data will be lost.

Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

Change font size in e mail

The printer prints whatever it's told to by the computer. Your printer really doesn't control the fonts.

When you are printing stuff from the internet (web pages, email, etc.) the reason for the small print is that it is related to the size of the monitor and it's viewing setup (the higher the screen resolution, the smaller the print will be when printing it out even though it looks good on the monitor).

One way you can make the print larger when printing internet stuff & emails is by changing the print view size on the screen to a larger size in your web browser (this is separate from your other setting you've already setup). Go to the menu bar at the top (i.e. Internet Explorer), click on "View," then "Text Size" then select a size like "Larger" or "Largest" (something higher than what you're currently set to.)

Another method is to go to your menu bar at the top of your web browser, click on "File" then "Print Preview". At the top of the window there should be a small window with "Shrink To Fit" in it. Click the arrow for a drop down list and choose something probably above 90% or more (maybe 100 or 125%) and see how it changes the print size of what is to be printed out.

The only other method is to copy & paste the text into a text editing software like Word and adjust the text size there. If you're using a text program, then you simply adjust the size of the text to a 12 or 14 point, or larger, font size (adjust depending on the font and size you need) and that should do the trick.

I am using Lenovo Y550 laptop. I want to use the Print Screen command but unfortunately there is no Print Screen key in this laptop. Could anyone please help me with regards to this issue. Thanks.

Most laptops do not have a dedicated print screen key, but instead have a function key (lower left of the keyboard, with some abbreviation of the word "function" on a key in a different color than the writing on the rest of the keys). Once you find the function key, look at the writing on the other keys that is the same color as the writing on the function key. One of those "other color" labels will be for print screen, and to use it, you hold down the function key at the same time as you push whatever key says print screen in the other color.

How do i download pictures toa laptop

Text them to your email address. When you open your email, either click on the attachment or on the photo itself and click on save.Send to pictures or whatever folder you like.Download them all before you put them into a folder though. You will see why. That's about the only way we have figured out how to do it.There is no plug 'n download software. It is a little tedious, but it's the only way possible.Good luck! My HP Pavillion DV6000 will not print screen (Screen Capture)

Why don't you just highlight what you want to print, place the curser over that and right click choosing copy. Go to the email that you are sending, put the curser where you want it, and right click again choosing paste. Works every time.

Printing from online comes out very light

Typically, the quality of images and text on websites is very low resolution to keep the file size down in order for them to load more quickly on your screen. Just because it looks good on your screen doesn't mean it will print the same. There are just fewer dots per inch in the text and images and they can appear faint and low quality when printed. Look for a print icon on some web pages as it will be at least formatted properly to fit the page and some are of better quality than printing what is on the screen.

When it comes to emails, if the text is in a color, especially blue, they will tend to print light. Change your printer settings to print grayscale and that should help sharpen things up about as much as is possible.
