Question about BMW Vehicle Parts & Accessories

1 Answer

My BMW X5 3.0D has been parked in my yard for nearly 8month now, with like 40litres of diesel on it, battery removed. The reason is Turbo problem - now today I tried to tow it to the garage to get the turbo changed. What I have discovered is the body has gone down nearly touching the rear tyres and the rear tyres wouldn't move/roll at all(they kept on scratching the floor) when I tried to tow. A friend said the boosters have locked due to lack of air. Please advise. Thanks

Then the conclusion I would see is the engine is burning oil or the fuel injection is the source of the smoke (excessive fuel) or the new or rebuilt turbo is defective.

undo any wires and hoses connected to the turbo. Undo the bolts attaching the turbo to the manifold and lift it off.

have the fault codes read to determine which servos/sensors have failed. It is possible that the hose to the turbo actuator is leaking and the turbo is not working as it should or maybe is not connected.
