SOURCE: how to remove bios password for Toshiba Satellite A200

If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.

If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.

SOURCE: toshiba a120 bios password

It cannot be removed using software.

To remove the password you will have to remove the CMOS battery located on the lower side of the motherboard.

To access the battery the computer must be disassembled completely.

I think if you do not have a recovery disc then the operating system needs to be reinstalled. It is also possible that the system needs a virus scan if there was a case of malwares within the PC.

Installed new WD HDD (160Gb) into Toshiba Satellite A10-S167. Entered BIOS edit, but can't get laptop to recognize the new HDD (which replaced a smaller, failed HDD)

Shouldn't have any problems on the A10 series working with a 160GB drive, so long as it's an ATA/IDE type with a 44-pin connector. If it's not recognizing the drive, could it be that the pins were not precisely lined-up with the IDE connector? I'd remove the drive, make sure the pins are still all straight, reinsert it into the HDD compartment and see if it makes a difference.

Hello! My laptop Toshiba sattelite L455s5975 is asking BIOS password. Unfortunately I cant remember it. Is it possible to delete (or ignore) the BIOS password to make my laptop able to work...

Hi,
If you have forgot BIOS password then you have to reset CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battrey, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will short the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battrey & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.
Thanks and regards,

Password prompt at startup. Unable to access

Ask him what the password is.

Otherwise you can remove the bios battery while the charger and battery are out for a few minutes.

That should clear it back to default, but it depends on your model whether or not that will work.
