HOW to Recover Data from Scratched CD's

HOW to Recover Data from Scratched CDs

All CD or DVD are always get some scratches when you use or even if your carefully using it,there's time that accidentally make some scratch in it.this tip is a painless techniques on how to create a full working CD from the scratched one. I have personally tested this and had fixed a CD that would not read data at all. This tip works best with small unreadable scratches, as some hard scratches are too deep and loose the data permanently.

Requirements:

1:Alcohol 120% software [or similar]
2:Cooking oil
3:Small piece of cotton
4:Dry cleaner paper

Follow this simple steps to fix a scratched CD for repair purposes:

In step one you must do some preparation work on the CD. Begin by wetting the cotton with water. Begin to clean the CD in a vertical motion; three firm wipes shall be sufficient. Dry the CD with the dry cleaner paper.

Using another piece of cotton, apply oil to the CD surface. Be sure to do this with caution and not overuse oil. After a through cleaning, dry carefully. Particles from the oil will stay on the micro surface of the scratch. It appears that the oil helps the laser of the CD/DVD driver
to read the surface again.

After downloading and installing Alcohol 120% software, run the program and select to create an ISO - image making wizard. Attempt to read the CD drive and test if the program can read the Alcohol 120% software is recommended for this, as it is known to recover data more efficiently than other ISO software.

If a successful read is obtained, I recommended creating a new CD immediately. Copy all the data from the CD to the hard drive or create an ISO of the CD for immediate use. With a favorite burning utility, burn the ISO or data onto a new CD.

How To Fix A Scratched CD,DVD,Rom,Disk ect

Some time you get a disk that gets scratched and you cant play it, it could be a disk for anything such as a video game system or a dvd. There are many myths to get the scratches out like flushing it in the toilet ( it does clean it).

To remove the scratches you need to resurgace the disk, pretty much scratch a layer of it off. You can purchause a disk resurfacer from places like walmart for about 20 dollars but also some game stores and most stores that sell used cds can do it to.

My game is scratched due to my daughter moving my console

The only soulution is to get a disk scratch remover to rescue the disk. The Xbox scratched the disk because of the lack of anything to stop the disk tilting inside the drive when the xbox is moved.

Cannot install Windows XP Pro using the setup disk. I can delete the old partition and reformat the hard disk using NTFS, but when setup starts copying files it fails to copy a file (never the same file)...

It's possible that your disk-drive is "failing", and it's about to "die".

Buy a new disk-drive, connect it, and try to install to it.

Other possibilities:
* bad RAM in your computer is messing-up the file-copy operations, and the CD-reading operations
* dying motherboard is malfunctioning,
* scratched Windows CD-ROM media
* malfunctioning CD-reader device.

Scracth disk is full

The Photoshop scratch disk is your hard drive. Photoshop uses your hard drive as temporary "swap" space, or virtual memory, when your system does not have enough RAM to perform an operation. If you only have one hard drive or partition in your computer, then the scratch disk will be the drive where your operating system is installed (the C drive on a Windows system).
You can change the scratch disk location and add multiple scratch disks from Photoshop Preferences. Many power users like to create a dedicated hard drive partition for the Photoshop scratch disk. Although Photoshop will function with a single scratch disk on the system partition, you can improve performance by setting the scratch disk to be the fastest drive in your system. Other useful guidelines for setting scratch disks are to avoid using the same drive where your operating system is installed, avoid using a drive where the files you edit are stored, and don't use network or removable drives for a scratch disk.
If Photoshop is shut down improperly or crashes in the middle of an editing session, this can leave fairly large temporary files behind on your scratch disk. Photoshop's temp files are typically named ~PST####.tmp on Windows and Temp#### on Macintosh, where #### is a series of numbers. These are safe to delete.

If you're getting an error message that the scratch disk is full, it means you need to clear some space on whatever drive is defined as the scratch disk in Photoshop Preferences, or add additional drives for Photoshop to use as scratch space.
