It sounds you know something about electricals...okay,try to put the cord from the unit to your lower arm and feel it if it is getting warmer in temperature,or the switch cover of your a/c wall switch.if not it`s better you have clamp meter for ampere testing and voltage measurment

didnt specify to much --generic answer -- sounds like hooking up a heating or cooling unit black and white should be your line voltage use a meter to test your black and white line for 110v if motor is 110v the low voltage lines are control or switch lines that dont go to motor they usually go to a thermostat or transformer

Plugged in but no juice getting through. Unit appears dead.


Most line voltage transformers have an internal fuse that isn't replaceable... You can measure the line input resistance with a meter to see if that's the problem.

How do I wire a Polaris PB4-60 in the USA (115V)?


I am not sure if this will help you out any, but here goes:
Line1 & Line 2 are your Hot Power Wires coming into the motor.
It does not really matter which wire goes to which post of the motor.
This will remain true if you are bringing in 110-115-120 (these are all the same, people just refer to them differently) which also is referred to at times as "Low" voltage, and the same goes for 220-230-240 (again, referred to differently) which is referred to at times as "High" voltage.
Whether bringing in Low voltage or High Voltage, the wires you bring in will number only three:
  • Ground
  • Hot
  • Hot (potentially Hot)
Low Voltage (115) will have:
  • 1 Absolute Hot Wire = Line 1. Normally Black
  • 1 Potentially Hot Wire = Common/Nuetral Line 2, normally White
  • Ground/Earth = Normally Green
High Voltage (220) will have:
  • 1 Absolute Hot Wire - Line 1, Normally will be same color as Line 2 or Black/Red
  • 1 Absolute Hot Wire - Line 2, Normally will be same color as Line 1 or Red/Black
  • Ground - Green
In either of the above voltages, it does not matter which wire goes where, as long as a Hot wire goes onto Line 1 and the other "Hot or Potentially Hot, if 110", goes onto Line 2. Do not put a Hot wire anywhere else and Do Not put a Ground wire on either Line 1 or 2!

Most Motors are coming out of the factory wired for High Voltage Set up (220), so you will have to move some wires or a terminal block, to set the motor to operate at "Low" voltage (115). These motors are "Dual" Voltage, they have the capability to run either 110 or 220. But they don't magically know which voltage is being supplied.

Compressor doesn't run when called for cooling.


This could be a lot of things, there is a contactor relay in the system that might be bad, there is a possibility the contactor is not getting voltage, there could be corrosion issues with connections or a bad start capacitor.

Installed LG split system. The unit does not


Any chance that you've got L1 and L2 hooked up to the same leg of the main? That would still give you 120 on each but not 240 from L1 to L2 like it should be. I'm not familiar with the LG system, but I would think that a comm line would have two wires.

My 1.5 ton,LG split AC shuts off rather

First the foam insulation is not just for looks,you will have some loss of cooling on the unit,the larger cooper line needs to be insulated,the small one does not.The large line is the suction line,the small one the liquid line.
Voltage,168 is low,sounds like a 208 volt unit or 220 volt.running at 168 or 198 ac volts is going to raise the amperage causing the compressor to run hot and work harder and soon burn up,And cause it to trip the breaker or shut itsself down on high heat.Your going to need to get that voltage fixed.I dont know why it needs a stabilizer if the unit was sized correctly it shouldnt need one.

Have a Ruud AC unit the problem I have after installing a new condenser fan motor when I throw the circuit breaker the unit will not turn on but when I push the contacts on the contactor in manualy the fan...


The contactor engages from low voltage power from the thermostat as does the outside condensing unit. You may have blown the low voltage transformer or have a loose thermostat wire. Check line voltage(220 volts) to the transformer. Check load voltage(24 volts) from the transformer. If no voltage out,replace the transformer. If you have voltage out(24) check the thermostat wires and the thermostat. If you have a digital thermostat there is a 5 minute delay in the thermostat after power is restored before it activates.

A/c unit won't come on


if unit uses a manual switch to turn on suspect it faulty if a circuit board is used the main fuse blew out.
