I have a 2003 S-type jaguar that goes into a limp mode and stops running then the engine system fault shows ,the parkbrake fault and DSC not available also shows. Diagnostic showed codes PO121,P1582??

code p 0121 is associated with the throttle position sensor and accelerator position sensor
causes are from cable adjustment --throttle position and accelerator position sensors
code p0533 refers to ac refrigerant pressure sensor--high input== causes --ac pressure too high (cooling fault -condenser fan not running at radiator-- too much gas --pressure sensor
p 0105 refers to map sensor / barometric pressure sensor --circuit malfunction===causes wiring--- map sensor --baro sensor ECM
code p0566 refers to cruise control master switch== causes --control switch , ---ECM
code p1582 refers to electronic throttle monitor data available which will be associated with the p 0121 code and faults

The gas pedal does not work

run the fault codes and look for a problem throttle position sensor or throttle actuator motor fault

I have audi a4 1996 v6 donot gode power speed When you press on the gas pedal starting slow ??Is the problem in geerbox or air system or oil pump thanks

run the fault codes as the problem may be in the accelerator position sensor or the throttle position motor if there is a problem in the transmissions the fault codes will reveal the faulty sensors/ servos and solenoids

Toyota 78 poor gas mileage

Please key check the crankshaft position sensor and the ignition coil, when the crankshaft position sensor failure will lead to the engine ignition time too early or too late, when the high voltage ignition coil fault is that the ignition is too weak, these two problems can lead to the lack of engine power and adverse symptoms such as waste oil, and in the two components without completely damaged, computer fault, it will be very hard to check especially the crankshaft position diagnostic tool.

Car bogges out when the gas pedal is pressed.

If the check engine light is on, take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for fault codes. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. It sounds like it could be a faulty throttle position sensor, but getting the codes will end speculation and show what faults the computer has noted, so the problem can be properly addressed. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Electronic Ignition Fault Light On

It is probably due to a faulty sensor somewhere, but without proper diagnostic equipment it is virtually impossible to tell which one.

A modern fuel injected engine will have sensors to monitor throttle position, manifold pressure, coolant temperature, air temperature, crank speed, camshaft position, exhaust gas oxygen, pre-ignition, etc, etc, etc.

Diagnostic equipment will be able to read the fault code from the vehicles computer and tell you where the fault lies.

The light cannot be reset manually. It will go out once the fault has been rectified.

Hope this helps!

The electricsal gas pedal

The pedal itself is the sensor. It is all one assembly called the accelerator pedal position sensor. If you are getting a code for this or the throttle position sensor don't assume either are at fault. There are many problems with wiring and the throttle body assembly which contains the throttle position sensor so a thorough diagnosis is needed before any parts should be put on.

Missing and cutting out

A fault code reader would be a huge help in diagnosing general problems. It plugs in under left side dash and gives specific failure codes (this is what mechanics use).
You can buy an OBD-I code reader (for cars before 96) online for $79.95 or a OBD-II which reads all cars from 1996 on. It will also reset faults or engine trouble lights.

You may want to check your fuel pressure with a gauge.

or do a simple Fuel pump test:
  1. remove the gas cap.
  2. have one person listen in the gas tank at the gas cap opening.
  3. the other person turns the ignition switch to the ON position ONLY (so the dash lights come on.) Do NOT crank or start up the engine.
  4. As soon as the ignition key is turned to the ON position, The person at the gas tank should hear the fuel pump run for TWO SECONDS and then it should STOP.
If it does NOT run for the 2 seconds every time, the fault is either the fuel pump or fuel pump relay
