Question about Linksys WUSB54GSC Compact Wireless-G USB Network Adapter w/ SpeedBooster [WUSB54GSC] (LS-SB54GSC)

Doesnt seem to recognize hardware

Hey, Just recently bought the Linksys wireless adapter to run on a desktop because wired is not a feasible option. I installed easily and it works fine when running windows XP, however, I am also using that desktop to run the latest Ubuntu persistently off a flashdrive and cannot get the wireless adaptor to register as being active, therefore no wireless connection. I found that the driver should be installed in a kernel already and the adapter should just plug in and go, but this is not the case. I am a fairly inexperienced Linux user, but I am very familiar with Windows. If additional information is needed, i can most likely provide it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Try installing the software while in Ubuntu. If that doesn't work, then you have to install your wireless card drivers while in Ubuntu. Here is a link to how this is done. Adios!

I had the same problem, but due to legal issues there won't be any linksys drivers available for linux any time soon. What i did was to sell mine and buy a different one with full compatibility with both windows and linux.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Wireless Adapter

try inserting the adapter in a different NIC slot. I suggest install the software first before you install the hardware. How? make sure that you uninstall the linksys software before you do it. Restart the desktop, then run the cd first - then it will prompt you to insert the adapter - that's the time that you'll insert the card (make sure you turn off the pc). then restart it, look for the linksys icon in your system tray (bottom right hand) it's a green square icon, right click on it then select open the monitor - go to site survey - you'll find your network there then connect to it.

Hope this helps.

Computer cant detect device

Try going to add hardware. Then select yes, the hardware is installed. When it gives you the list of installed devices, go to the bottom and select add new hardware device. After that select the advanced option to select "install the hardware I manually select from a list". On the next page, select network adapters. Then click "have disk" you will now have to put your driver in a folder(usually on the desktop). After you select have disk you will browse for the folder which has the driver. Make sure your driver has a file that has the extension ".inf" as this is needed to install the driver.
Hope this helps

Dell D600 - Linksys wireless router/adapter

Seems there is a problem with the Linksys since there is not any lights coming on. Did you plug it into a switched outlet in the wall? Does it work if you plug the Linksys into an outlet in another room?
If you can get it to light up, the way you will access it is through your web browser. Type in 192.168.1.1 into your web browser and a login in screen should pop up.

Linksys router befw11s4

The easiest way to sort it is to enter your routers settings page in your internet browser or desktop icon and make sure you enable DHCP which will give your pc an automatic ip address. Make sure WEP or similair is off until the set up is sorted out. Next go to your properties of your wireless adapter(Card) and go to internet TCP/IP and click properties and make sur 'Obtain IP address automatically is ticked. No click Start, then Run then type:- ipconfig /flushdns then press enter.(note the gap between ipconfig and the /). Restart your pc and router and try connecting again
