Re: Viking sewing machine

There should be a diagram on the machine telling how to thread the machine. If not you can order a new manuel for your model Online.

Re: Viking sewing machine

I have lost my manual, it is somewhere in my house. I do not want to buy a new one. I just need a diagram of how to thread my machine.

This should be your machine: shows that they have this downloadable in Adobe PDF format here:

#37 in the list as of me posting this. You can get a CD version too but you'll just pay more and wait longer for the same thing. Once you have it print the manual (preferably both sides to keep it small) ang you'll have it. You can also peruse eBay to see if anyone is selling a manual but I doubt that will yield regular results. The machine looks to be pretty basic and standard but it's best you have the manual to get the most out of the machine. Also be sure to check the cleaning and lubrication section and go through the process so that the machine is in top working order before you put it into regular use - saves a lot of headaches.

SOURCE: Viking sewing machine model 6430 will only sew backwards

bbragg77 is mostly correct. It is not the camstack. Although they will crack, but that is all together another problem. It is the stitch length/reverse mech. You can manually work it back and forth to free it and I like to use break cleaner to get it free then re lubricate. A good service shop can put you back in business. And yes Viking does not support 6000 series machines any longer.

What do you mean you are unable to pull the bobbin thread through, elaboration would help solve the problem...
I suspect I'm having the same problem with you if it's anything to do with the top thread looping around in the bobbin holder.

Damn machine!

SOURCE: Sewing thick fabric and machine won't send it through

Sergers are not really meant to sew very thick material. The blades have a maximum amount of range, or thickness that they can reach to cut. If you go outside that range, get ready for a big repair bill! You can break loopers and even the needle plate when you "push" a serger. My advise would be to use you sewing machine for the, "pounding" work. The type of material matters too, A thick Quilt like fabric can be sewn becatuse it's not dense material. A thinner harder denim could max out at 3 layers because of it"s hard finish. If the fabric you're sewing isn't dense like, you could just need new knives.

SOURCE: My Viking Rose sewing machine starts and stops and

The Rose has a sensor on the presser bar assembly that is giving you the grief. The machine thinkss the presser foot is in the raised position. There is a small metal flat spring that has gone bad and causing the error. Find an autorized service center to repair the problem.

How do I turn off thread portioning on Husqvarna Ruby De Luxe. I don't want to adjust the settings but need to turn this off. Thank you

FWIW, I was unable to find any information for turning off the thread portioning function. Unfortunately, this appears to be the thread tensioning system, so disabling the thread portioning would be disabling the thread tensioning--something that is critical to sewing. It appears this model may have some issues and perhaps this one is particular to your machine. It may be best to take it for service.

Need to know how to take the cover off of a viking 400 sewing machine?

Screws are either T10 or T20. There are some on the back and some on the bottom. However, would recommend taking it to a Viking Service Tech for repair. Occasionally you can use tweezers and pull thread out if it is not tightly embedded in the sewing head. You can find a dealer near you by using the link 'Locate a Dealer' at the Husqvarna Viking Website -

Hi! You can find manuals for Husqvarna Viking sewing machines at Another place to look for an instruction manual for your machine is I didn't find anything about replacement instruction manuals on Husqvarna Viking's website--BUT they have a neat feature called The Sewing Room that offers how-to-sew instructions.
