You are most likely using wma or wmv files, please only use MP3 files they will never give you such complaints.

I don't know if you have any mp3 music files. So I'm giving you one:
http://users.turkuai.fi/users/niohtone/mp3/Sugarcult%20-%20Memory.mp3

Right click on the above link and select save as, save it to your desktop and then move it to the mp3 player and play it.

the other files that you have, they will need to be converted into mp3 format. the problem with the files that you have there is that they are copy protected, converting it to mp3 will get rid of the copy protection.

this converted should do the job.

Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks,

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

Philips mp3 go gear, i can put songs on but then when i come to play it says media engine error.drm licence not available.

When the message 'Error' or 'License Issue' shows, it is referring to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) licences which are commonly found when downloading files. This is a method the music companies use to protect their music

Have transferred music from pc onto device, but it won't play. a message appears saying no DMS licence?

It sounds like you deleted an important item when deleting music previously. You will need to go online and download the software again so that this problem will not persist, or if there is a master reset that will help.

In your Windows media Player go into tools and select options. Select rip music and untick copy protect music. The music you have in WMP wont work. you will have to put them in again after you made the changes. Hope this helps

Non-Supported format detected

Some videos, like music videos, have a copyright protection system on them that will not allow them to play even if you use the converter. You can also go to Philips' website and get the upgrade for your Media Converter - worth a whirl.

Philips GoGear SA3245/37

Those WMA's have a particular DRM-encryption system that the player does not recognize - they have play rights, but no real transfer rights. Convert the files to Mp3 format using Media Monkey and you will be fine.
