Add the numbers together then divide by the number of numbers. In this case, adding them together gives 83, and there are 9 numbers. Dividing 83 by 9 gives 9.22 for the mean.

What does mean , mode , median and range mean

Are you dealing with a set of individual numbers ? How is the data being presented to you ? How exactly you find these quantities will depend on how they are given to you. The descriptions below are based on the case of a set discrete individual numbers.

mean (average) = sum of a set of numbers / the number of numbers that there are
mode = that number in a set of numbers which occurs most often
median = that number at which the sum of the smaller numbers equals the half of the sum of all of the numbers
"The "range" is just the difference between the largest and smallest values"
see Mean Median Mode and Range
and many other examples on the internet

When turning up or down does that number mean the current room temperature or what you want it to be? And when doing that is the lower number mean cooler or warmer? And the number being displayed at all...

The number you can adjust is the temperature you want. A lower number is colder and a warmer number is hotter. Remember that even if you turn it up or down by a lot, it doesn't change the temperature any faster. The number you cannot adjust is the temperature at the thermostat.

How do I figure a mean?

Add the numbers together, then divide by the number of numbers.

For example, to figure the mean of 3, 4, and 5, add 3, 4, and 5 to get 12. Divide by the 3 and get 4. Thus the mean of 3, 4, and 5 is 4.

What do the plus and minus numbers mean on eye prescriptions? I have a minus 2 number in one eye and minus 2.5 in the other and I have no idea what that means.

Basically the numbers are an indication of your vision level. Minus numbers refer to being nearsighted (also known as short sighted). Plus numbers are far sighted (also known as long sighted).

So if you have a minus number it means that you have trouble seeing things in the distance but can probably see things that are close to you without any problems.

WHAT IS THE MEAN DEVIATION FOR 121 122 123 124 125 126?

Hello Dear

Mean deviation is calculated by the following steps:

1. Add all the numbers and then divide by total number of values. That is take a mean.
2. Then subtract the mean from each values and ADD them all
3. then the added answer must be divided by the total number of values. and you get the Mean devaition.

I solved your problem here in steps:

Step 1:
(121+122+123+124+125+126) / 6 Equals to 102.6

Step 2:

(121-102.6) + (122-102.6) ...... +(126-102.6)

Step 3:

125.4/6 = 20.9 is the MEAN DEVIATION

Hope so this will help you.
