Question about LG LHD45EL Dehumidifier

Bucket full light on nd no water in bucket

I have not used the dehumidifier in a while. I went to turn it on today but got the bucket full light and it would not go on. There's no water in the bucket as i have it connected to a drain. I cleaned the bucket and the filter however, was not able to get the front grill off to check the coil.

I think that there is a 90 degree bend in the outlet on the bottom right front side of the collection tray that gets pluged with dirt, line etc. You can see this when you remove the collection container from the unit. I used a small piece of wire to clean out the hole and now the water goes into the tank and not onto the floor.

    or check this

If when you turn your dehumidifier on the compressor runs then you
should get moisture. Dehumidifiers work on the same principal as
refrigeration. There is a bad control switch or the compressor start
relay or capacitor is defective. If compressor runs and
there is no effect then that is another problem. The filter should come
out the front where the air goes in front and the filter should be
washed by hand in warm degrease detergent water, dry and replace. If the disposable type filter I will help you contact LG.Thanks,

The bucket full light is controlled by a manual 'float' switch in the bucket itself
the water level lifts the float ...turns on the light and
does not allow the unit to operate because it believes it is full.

is very common for the 'float' to gets misaligned, hung-up, etc. when
you remove and re-insert the bucket. Sometimes the 'chain' gets
twisted, turned...which does not allow the float to ...float...rather
it is 'hung-up' which indicates it is 'full'...when in fact it is
    clearly not.

    To check this:

    • remove bucket from unit

    • look into the top of the bucket opening to locate the 'float'...generally 2" round plastic ball on a shaft, (or chain)

    • softly cup the float in order to lift this up...with
the unit stilll plugged see if the light goes off...this is
      very likely

    • then be sure that the float mechanism is able to
freely 'float' in the space....i.e. you are trying to simulate the
impact of rising water levels in the bucket

    • as it rises (in your hand the machine will turn
off/light it drops....the light shuts off, allowing the machine
to run (when humidity levels demand it)

    • then re-install the bucket....being very careful to
lift the float, while you insert it...there is generally a little nack
to it...but you quickly learn how to do it easily (I just reach into
the space...cup the float...put the bucket on an angle...slide it
in....release the float into the bucket...(remove hand)...then finish
      pushing the bucket into place
    -hope this helps

When full bucket light comes on water is emptied and bucket put back in position. Fan will start and then the full bucket light comes back on beeps and shuts off.

You have to be sure bucket is replaced exactly where it should go or the bucket will hold the switch in, thinking it is full. If you have a floor drain close by,remove the bucket and set the dehumidifier over or next to drain so water will go down it,then you don't worry about bucket getting full.If it doesn't run with bucket off, maybe defective switch. unhook wires to the bucket switch and hook or tape together,if dehumidifier runs then switch is bad. UNPLUG FROM OUTLET BEFORE DOING THIS. IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ELECTRICITY GET QUALIFIED HELP!!

The full bucket light stays on yet no water is collected

if water full light stays on the compressor wont start and remove water from air , investigate why light stays on ? is bucket really full? is sensor knocked out of its fragile holder ? is bucket all the way inside machine so that sensor is connected ?

Dehumidifier stopped working because "water bucket full" indicator light stays on, although there is no water in bucket.

In the water bucket is a float assm. scale forms on the assm. and causes it to stick. Remove the float assm. and carefully remove the scale. Should start working again once done. If not you may have to replace it.

Are you supposed to put water in the bucket of the dehumidifier or is the water that is in the bucket now from using the dehumidifier? Dumb question I am sure. But I am renting and have never used one...

The dehumidifier condenses the water on its coils and then it drips into the bucket. Dump out all of the water when the bucket is full. This model has a light that tells you when it is full. If the dehumidifier gets ice on the coils, it needs repair (low refrigerant).

I hope this helps.

I have a Goldstar GHD30 dehumidifier. I have not used it in awhile. I plugged it in to run it today and it does not turn on. I cleaned the screen and tried different outlets, nothing works. HELP!

Check the condensate collection bucket. If the bucket is not inserted correctly the dehumidifier might think the bucket is full and thus not turn on.
