Question about Husqvarna Garden

Open Question

I ran out of gas on my Husqvarna Zero Turn mower. After filling with gas, now the mower won't even attempt to start. If I pull the "engage" button to on, I at least get the hours readout to show. When disengaged, nothing. Help.

SOURCE: Husqvarna zero turn mower won't start

Usually if all you hear is a clicking noise, it is the solenoid itself that has gone bad...if you can jump the solenoid and the mower turns over, it is the solenoid.

SOURCE: 2007 Husqvarna Riding mower blade will not engage

Sounds like you electric blade clutch is bad. I just had the same thing happen to my exmark mower. I was cutting grass and the engine just shut down. It would not crank over. Checked the fuses and replaced one blown fuse. The engine wanted to crank over but it was locked up. I looked the engine over and seen that the bearing in the electric clutch seized up causing the clutch to melt.

SOURCE: Craftsman zero turn - blades won't engage

The PTO switch contacts to operate the clutch that starts the blades is defective. I have replaced mine and the new one just failed again. Sears must know this is a defect problem but so far they are quiet about the problem

The electromagnetic coupling is on the bottom of the crankshaft under the mower engine. When the magnets are engaged (power is supplied), they activate the pulley that moves the deck belt.

Zero turn mower is sputtering and dies

Check everything is clean. Check the air filter is clean, check that the engine cooling fan, cutting blades and cutting deck are free of grass. Check all the drive belt pulleys to ensure accumulated grass is not jamming anything. Check the fuel filler cap is clean and the breather hole works.

Husqvarna RZ5424 deck wont engage

This is an electro magnetic clutch, it is non servisable, if you have a 12volt supply to the clutch with the pto button pulled out, and it still does not work i fear it is a new clutch required.

I have a husqvarna 4623 zero turn and when I would pull up the pto the mower would die. I replaced the fuel filter and now it won't even stay running

Most likely the battery isn't holding enough charge which is why the PTO won't engage.
Likely you have air in the fuel line/fuel filter which lets it run for awhile then it fuel starves.

maybe bad fuel, fuel line leaking, flooding of the carburetor, since it did start and ran rough I am assuming that the gas was left set and more then likely this gummed up the carburetor, you will have to clean/rebuild it. If you have a can of carburetor clean you may be able to spray that into there and clean it up, I would not choke it to start it as it sounds like it got/is flooded/ing. Good Luck Tim

The mower starts but the blade switch won't conect yth1542xp

Husqvarna uses an electronic clutch to engage the mower deck. When the clutch works itself out of adjustment it will quit working. Sometimes it will blow the 20 fuse and the tractor will continue to run, but the blade won't engage. When you then shut off the tractor it won't crank again until you replace the fuse. When you attempt to engage the blades again, the fuse will blow again.

Follow this link for a detailed description of the adjustment process:
