No need to break the tab... that' on the power IN side of the switch..
You only need one power in (in most cases).
The power outs are separated already.. one goes to your first load and the other will go to the second.
The white wires are your common and are hooked together with the other whites in the box... don't hook them to the switch.
Hope this get's ya all connected... let me know if you need more assistance.

These cars have cheap switches and the cancel function has plastic tabs that bend and break off inside. Get a new switch, also knon as "Combination Switch"

How do I wire double elrctrical switches?

i assume both switches are single pole? How to wire depends on what wires you have in the box (i.e. the circuit they are in).

I have a leviton combination (2) switch... I want each switch to (naturally) operate (2) different lights - all (white) 4 neutrals are combo in a wire nut and feed is going to the right side top brass...

Don't break away the tab.
It sounds like you have Hot wire connected to wrong side of device.

Electricians don't guess, they test.
Separate wires. Turn power ON.
Test each wire to bare ground.
Tester lights up on Hot wire.

Hot connects to brass screw(s). This will feed power into each switch.
Wires going to Load (lights) connect to each silver screw.

IN THE OLD DOUBLE SWITCH I REPLACED WITH THE 5224, SWITCH 1 WOULD TURN ON LIGHT 1 AND SWITCH 2 WOULD TURN ON LIGHT 2. I WIRED THE 5224 THE SAME WAY AS THE OLD SWITCH. NOW ONE SWITCH ON THE 5224 TURNS BOTH...

The switch is wired backwards. Swap sides with the wires.

If you look closely at the switch you will see that one side has 2 screws that are joined together with a metal tab. _That_ is the side that gets the hot wire, pick a screw, it doesn't matter which one as long as you don't break off that tab.

On the other side of the switch you will see that the 2 screws are _not_ joined together with a metal tab. _Those_ are the screws that connect to each individual switch leg.

I think you have your wires connected to wrong screw.

Wiring devices have screws that are color-coded as you noticed.
The Hot wire from breaker connects to dark colored screw(s).
The wires to Load (ceiling light-outdoor light) connect to brass screws.

How do I change the combination code for the glove box if there is not a way how would I find out what the combination is

I assume you know the current combination and can open it. To set the combination to a number code of your choice you must first remove the red plastic guard over the yellow tab next to the combination dials. Push the glove box release lever to the right to open the glove box. To change the combination:
1. With the glovebox open, hold the release to the right and slide the yellow tab up. This locks the release open and permits you to reset the code.
2.After resetting the code, write it down in case you forget it.
3. Slide the yellow tab down and the release will return to the closed position.
4. Close the glove box and move the dials off the code you set to lock it.
This is all from the 89 Pontiac Owners Manual. Good luck, hope it works.

AEG 3032 Oven, no light, no main fan, no heat to grill or oven however the exhaust fan does operate when the grill/oven is switched on. The thermostat clicks when moved from 0 to a higher temperature but...

If you are sure the timer is set to manual and not auto , then I would say that it sounds like the selector switch is faulty or the thermostat is faulty, some times they are combined as one unit, and sometimes they are 2 separate switches.
You need to remove top cover of oven and have a look inside the control panel and see if there is anything obvious like a burnt wire or bad connection
If it is a combined unit, then sometimes the 2 parts of the unit become disengaged or the cam inside the switch breaks.

Plz rate my solution .
Thanks.
