Left cartridge incorrect on Lexmark X4550

Just replace with genuine new cartridge #23, got the message :Left cartridge incorrect:, put the old one back to the holder and its okay. I check both cartridges, there are some differences between the two, the one that got the problem has circle contact pads, the original one(the good) has square pads( see on the back of the cartridge, there are a bunch of electronic contack pads).This probably the problem.I need to know if some one can fix the problem

Lexmark has a firmware upgrade to fix this problem. Check the Lexmark web site.

Hello,

Both pad styles should work just the same in your printer. You need to take the cartridge back to the store and have them replace it. From time to time in the manufacturing process 1 or more contacts will mis-connect and you get the error you are talking about.

Left cartridge incorrect


Is it a factory new cartridge, or was it refilled somewhere?
It's more likely to be bad if it's a refill. If it wasn't the Lexmark label on the box, it's a refill.

Put the old one back in to see if you get the same error. If you get no error, your new cartridge is bad, get a replacement.

Have a lexmark x5495 and have new cartridges. when printer is turned on, message states left cartridge incorrect.


Make sure that you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges and the correct versions for your model. The Lexmark X5495 takes 28/34 black or 29/35 color cartridges.
Try to re-insert your left cartridge and make sure it is properly seated in the carrier.
You can also try to reinsert your old left cartridge to determine if it's a faulty cartridge issue.

There are a small number of #23/#24 cartridges that are not properly recognized by the printer. Lexmark has a firmware upgrade to correct this issue. The upgrade for the X3430 is available from Lexmark at:

To install the firmware upgrade,
  1. Make sure the printer is ON and connected with a USB cable.
  2. Download and run the appropriate firmware upgrade for your computer.
  3. Be sure not to disconnect or power off the printer until the upgrade is complete

When the update finishes the printer will restart and will accept the cartridges. Please contact Lexmark support if this does not fix the problem.

I have installed a black 23 print cartridge in my x3550 printer, and it is indicating that the cartridge is incorrect, however, this is the same cartridge that is required.


Left/Right Cartidge Incorrect - huh? The printer is saying Left Cartridge Incorrect or Right Cartridge Incorrect,
and you are sure that you inserted the correct cartridge, a #23 or #24.


A small number of #23/#24 cartridges will report as Incorrect Cartridge because
of a manufacturing issue. There is a firmware upgrade available to fix this problem, and allow
the printer to accept the cartridge.


3500-4500 Series (X3550, X4550)


3400 Series (X3430)


1400 Series (Z1420)


To apply the upgrade:

  1. Make sure the printer is turned ON and connected with a USB cable.
  2. Download and run the appropriate update program using the links above.
  3. Be careful not to disconnect or turn off your printer while it is being updated.




When the update is complete the printer should automatically restart and accept the #23/#24 cartridges.

Lexmark x4550 install new cartridge but printer read incorrect


Are you using a Lexmark factory new cartridge or a re-filled / third party cartridge. If the answer is that you are using re-filled or a third party cartridge that is your failure. Lexmark does not support the use of these products in there products. In fact, use of these type of products is considered to be -product tampering and will cause Lexmark to void the printer's warranty. Please do not shoot the messenger for the contents of the message. Refill ink not printing Lexmark x4550


take the cartridges out and clean them also clean where they go with a lint free cloth then replace them.

Have a error message left cartridge incorrect


Hey!

Are you using Jet Tec ML32 Cartridge re-manufactured cartridges or genuine Lexmark Cartridge?

If it is the Jet Tec cartridge then it is known to be faulty - purchase a Lexmark cardridge and you should be fine.

If it is the Lexmark Cardridge then I would recommend taking all of the cartridges out, turning the printer off (from the power), turning it back on, inserting the cartridges again and checking if it works.

If none of the solutions work, then your cartridge is damaged and should be replaced.
