Question about Kitchen Ranges

Oven too hot

Hi
I have a Maytag Gemini Double Oven Electric Range. The top oven gets hotter than it is set for. If the temperature sensor has gone bad, is there instruction or can you give me instruction on changing the sensor? I've replaced dryer belts and heating elements, replaced the coupling on the washing machine and replaced the turn table motor on the microwave so I just need some general knowledge of what to do.

Thank you

Randy

    Hi

ok, I have the sensor out of the oven. I read where the ohms when read should be 1100. I have a small digital meter with just one setting on the OHMs. When I read the ohms of the sensor, I get 1.115. Is that ok? is the 15 enough to cause the oven to be too hot?

    Thank you

    Randy

F1-1 reading on control board

F1:-1 may appear on your Gemini oven range for various reasons, but the meaning is always the same. The error means that the display relay control board thinks your temperature on your upper double oven range is running away and getting too hot. To fix the error F1-1, check the wire harness between your oven sensor and your control board to make sure the wires are secure and the connections are good. Pull the oven out and remove the back panel on the oven to check the wires connections. If the connections and wires check good, disconnect the wire connection to the oven sensor and check the resistance of the sensor. The resistance should be 1100 ohm at standard room temperature. If the sensor is not good you need to replace it, and if the sensor checks within range replace the display control board. Here is the part to order.

All parts come with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Have a F1-2 error for my maytag range.. the stovetop works fine but the ovens don't

F1
Defective touch pad or clock (ERC) Replace touch pad or clock (ERC). Touch pad is a more common
problem. Refer to F1 test at the top of this page for more
information. F2 Oven temperature too hot Replace relay board, if present, or oven temperature sensor
(RTD). Check sensor harness.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F1-1 in your Maytag Gemini Indicates runaway cook in upper oven and to resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temperature sensor & replace if it has gone bad. Maytag Gemini double oven flashes F1 and stops heating.

I am attaching a Gemini manual. The checking procedures are the same for your oven.
Two component suspects for your problem would be the door latch mechanisms and the oven temperature sensors.

Maytag Gemini Stove Code F1-4 (bottom door won't open)

F-1 error is a Temperature Runaway. It Maytag's way of letting you know that oven overheated. Nothing you have done but it may have shorted out the oven sensor or the keypad. Check the sensor and see if it's closed. If it's okay, replace the keypad.
