Every time you change an operating system or go one computer newer expect that what accessories you are familiar with cannot come with you on the journey. You have to scour the stores for newer tech to go with your newer toys.

I GOT A NOTHOR COMPUTER AN I PUT MY SERIAL NUMBER IN MY OLD COMPUTER AN NOW THAT SAME SERIAL NUMBER WONT WORK FOR MY NEW COMPUTER

I'm assuming you mean your windows serial number if it was an O.E.M. serial number then you can't transfer it to another computer. your only options are to buy a new copy/ buy a validation through windows/ check ebay sometimes you can get copies of windows very cheaply especially if you are just replacing windows xp. there are also less reputable ways of getting a fresh windows installation however i neither suggest nor condone it. hope this helps

I forgot my activation code number and i need a new one

I assume you are talking about the Microsoft operating system.
The Activation (or Serial)-Number is usually located either on the installation media (outside of the CD Case), or if you bought a preinstalled Computer, there is usually a sticker underneath (in case of a notebook) or on the side of the computer.

If however you lost your Install Media, or the stickers are no longer there, then you have a problem. That is, unless the operating system is still installed.
If that is the case, you can use a special utility to "read" the serial from the running system.
One Utility to do this for Windows can be found here: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/downloads/KeyFinderInstaller.exe

This is the free version. It should work for all Windows Versions up to but not including Windows 7 and Office 2010 (there is a paid version on www.magicaljellybean.com that also covers those)

If you do no longer have access to the system, then retrieving a serial key is no longer possible.

To retrieve another legal serial, you would have to buy another Windows license.

Photo impact pro as a software has compatibility requirements. For example, impact pro was invented during the times of windows Xp operating systems with Microsoft computers. Imply that, impact pro would hardly function with apple Mac computers. Since the Xp operating systems, computers have gone through design fronts of Windows Vista 1 & 2, and recently displaying Windows 7 on those acquired on the market over years ago. The most recent multimedia photo editor software's acquirable on the retail market have compartibilies with more recent computers. Alternately, performing a computer alteration may achieve installation capabilities. First, finding a computer still functioning on windows XP, millennium, 2000 or 1998 would make installation possible. However, sustain wearsomeness since windows 98 earlier years computers were least designed for multimedia capabilities as known with Photo Impact Pro 8.5. Second, a possibility of acquiring Windows Xp disk software on the retail market to replace the one on the computer would make impact pro installable. However like known of operating system software's, it is only possible to install the same operating system on an existing one on a computer as restoration purposes. If different software should be acquired like XP requesting installation on windows Vista or Windows 7, the entire hard disk drive has to be erased of media traces of the prior. Alerternately, a new operating system may be installed if only a new hard drive, memory cards were acquired to replace the prior on the computer to make possible installation of Photo Impact pro 8.5

If issues with new computer just take it back and replace it with one that works. Software should have loaded unless the driver is incorrect for the OS.

New Dell Inspiron 560 with old cannon printer i550. Can a serial adaptor to bus let printer work with printer. I have orig cannon software

You will need a Serial to USB converter dongle that you can buy from a local shop as Dell Inspiron 560 does not have serial ports. Also your disc with the printer driver will not work as it must have got drivers for Windows XP on it and as I assume this is a new computer then it will have Windows 7 operating system.
You can download the drivers from:- http://canon.driversdown.com/Canon-driver-list/s_355_1.shtml
Thanks. If this was helpful then kindly rate me.

My computer that has PSW2.0 crashed. It had Windows XP. I have a new HP computer with Windows 7. What do I have to do to make it work on my new computer?

From Singerco.com FAQs: Q. My computer only has USB ports. Can you recommend a Serial (nine pin) to USB converter cable that will work with the Professional Sew Ware™ 2.00a? A. We have found that the PSW works best on newer computers when the USB serial adapter cable has not only compatible drivers for the Windows operating system but also a FTDI chip. We have found this FTDI chip in the cable which is listed below:
CUSB-232A available from Computerplug.com and Cablesalesusa.com.
Any USB to serial adapter with an FTDI chip will work. These cables will work for Windows XP, VISTA, and 7.

Will not work with Windows 7, is there a driver that will work.

I was having the same problem, and the answer is a little tricky, but should work fine. You need another computer running xp or vista. Go to the other computer, then install the software from the included disk. Download Drivermax (http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/index.htm) and install it on the xp/vista computer. Then, plug the receiver unit into the xp/vista computer, and wait for the hardware to be installed. Once the receiver is installed (you can test this by running "Uniden Surveillance System" and turning on a camera), leave the receiver plugged in and run drivermax. Click on "Backup Drivers" under "Driver Backup and Restore". Click next, and wait for it to list all of your devices (this could take a while, depending on your devices). When they have all listed, scroll through the list until you see "Wireless Digital Camera" or similar. Check the checkbox next to that, and click next. Save the file on a usb drive and disconnect the receiver and the usb drive with the driver on it. Go to the Windows 7 computer, and make sure the Uniden Surveillance System software is installed. Plug in the receiver and wait for windows to try to install the software. When it shows the error, go to printers and devices, and double click the icon for the receiver, under the unrecognized category. Click troubleshoot, and it will try to figure out the problem. Once it asks you where to look for the driver (Windows Update or a file on your computer), click the option for the file on your computer, and browse to the folder on your usb drive. Continue, and it will search the folder for the files it needs. For me this took a while, but wait for it to finish installing the driver. Once it does, you're done! Start up the software and try out your camera!

This worked fine with me, using an XP driver on a windows 7 netbook.

My older hi-pro box will not work with my serial to USB adapter. It keeps saying it cannot find it on com 1,2,3,4. In the device settings it says the hipro is on port 2 and the serial/USB bridge is on port...

I just set up a serial Hi-Pro box for one of my customers on their new laptop. According to Beltone, the only usb adapter that will work with the Hi-Pro (or at least the only one they have gotten to work) is a Belkin F5U409. I know some usb serial adapters don't use true serial communications if that makes any sense, so there isn't really a baud rate. They kind of just send out the communication in bursts...

In any case, ive only tried with the belkin adapter and that worked fine with no problems. The other point here is that your Hi-Pro and Adapter are on different com ports... This is odd, the hi-pro should be on the serial adpater's com port. Also the software i was using - Noah, with a beltone module for programming hearing aids.. only looked on com ports 1-3. The computer put the serial adapter on com 8 - which would not do. I checked for available com ports and saw that 2 was unused. I set the adapter to 2 and was able to set up the program normally.

I did this on Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit. The procedure for selecting the com port is the same on earlier versions of windows.

First, open device manager, open the list titled "Ports (COM and LPT)". You should see your serial adapter in there. Double click it. In the window that opens click the "ports" tab, and hit the button labeled "Advanced" In the window that opens there will be a drop down list to select a com port. Select the desired com port and hit ok. That should fix it.
