I need to change my ssid cause my cameras wont sink

You need to login to your Wireless Router Admin Console (use default gateway address, usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) enter your username and password (sometimes found on the back of the router, if you haven';t changed it), go to Wireless Settings and under SSID/Broadcast name, type in a new SSID.

Got new internet service. Now I can't connect the internet to the wii!! I need a SSID and I don't where I get that from

Hello! SSID stands for wireless network name. This means that whenever you wanted to connect to your router, you need to know your SSID to join your network. This works very similar in connecting a new laptop to your router. Below is an example in checking the wireless network a Windows 7 Operating System is connected to. "RABBIT and maculit" are examples of SSID. I hope this helps.

Were having problems connecting our Wii to our router we have a Cisco E2000 router. on the Wii a screen pops up when im trying to connect that asks for a SSID n i cant find that on the rounter or anywhere...

Your SSID is the name of your wireless network, which you probably entered yourself when you set up your router. If you didn't change anything, its probably something like generic like: "ciscoxxxx" or "linksys".

F7D8302V1 is only broadcasting the 2.4ghz Wireless G SSID (SSID = Belkin.5d94 ) The 5ghz Wireless N SSID is set to "MyTV". This SSID doesn't show up as broadcasting on any devices...

Hello,
This might not actually be an issue. The 5ghz band is not available on a lot of devices. Unless your device says it supports 5ghz, you will not see it. All cell phones I know of, blackberry's, iphones, etc... use wireless G, or N 2.4ghz. New devices like HD streaming video players, media extenders, 2010-2011 MAC's and some new PC laptops support the 5ghz band. Your configuration screen shot looks fine. Verify that your devices support 5ghz.
My MAC book PRo 2011 supports 5ghz and so does my Asus Laptop. These two devices connect to the 5ghz and all my other devices, including my blackberry, connect to 2.4ghz.
Regards, Chris

I have changed my SSID number and now cannot use my printer wirelessly. How do I change the number?

> I have changed my SSID number
> how do I change the number?

Huh?

Or, do you mean that you need to use the buttons and the LCD panel on the HP printer to specify the "new" SSID?

I have a NETGEAR router and I need the SSID and the type of sceurity. With the password. Can you help

Looks you havent configure your router. To get SSID and security key you have to configure it on your router.

You have to manually assign SSID on your Wireless Settings and Select proper security like WPA or WPA2 and assign preshare key ( security key). After assigning when you search for SSID on your Laptop or wireless computer it will you SSID you configured on your Router if you click on the SSID to connect it will ask you security key, supply the preshared key you configured on router.

If you are very new to router you might need to refer manual

You will need to connect to the router with a cable and access the router configuration and setup. Make sure it is set to broadcast SSID and that it is not using WEP or that you have the same WEP key and Network SSID configured in the laptop. Next you need to check that the channel it is using to broadcast SSID information is not channel 6 if you have an HP laptop. Change that to channel 10. Of course the first thing you need to double check is that your wirelss on the laptop is turned on and capable of connecting to the router. If the router is using 802.11B and your laptop is only capable of using 802.11G they will never see each other.

SSID

Hello JediSentinel

(01) Change your SSID and then, turn off SSID broadcasting.

(02) If your router supports this feature, set up a wireless access list. This is a list of MAC addresses of wireless devices on your LAN that are allowed to connect through your router's wireless radio. They will be the only wireless devices allowed in. (Note: If you are using any wireless repeaters, doing so will defeat the wireless access list.)

(04) Set a STRONG password for your router login and change it often. There are password generators on the Internet that you can use if you don't have one.

If you need any help w/ any of these steps, just let us know. Please, provide us w/ the make and model no. of your router as well.

Please, let us know if this response was helpful for you or, of course, if you have more questions, etc on this topic.

Thank you
BJ
