SOURCE: Wood splitter slow action

What's going on is the seals are worn out on the inside and the fluid is bypassing. This is why it is slow.....while operating it, feel it. If it is hot, it's bypassing....the actuator (cylider that houses the piston) needs rebuilt.

If you can get the specs on this, it is really easy to reseal....pressure testing is another thing....take it to a rebuild shop. get this done and it will last another 30 winters!

Good luck!

Was working fine until just not enough power to split log

Air conditioners usually cannot split logs very well. They are better at cooling instead of splitting wood. If you have a wood splitter and picked AC by mistake then I would check the hydraulic fluid level, grease the slide that the splitter wedge runs on. Then change the oil in the engine and clean the airfilter or replace it. Also make sure you use fresh gas and not old gas. gas goes bad after sitting a few months.

Wood splitter is pushing hydrolic fluid out fill tube on the return stroke

make sure that the ram is in the fully retracted position
empty oil reservoir until the oil level is at the required position normally about 1/4 inch below filler plug
if oil is added with the ram at any extension then the extra oil will be pushed back into the reservoir and over flow out

I have a didier wood splitter and the hydraulic need seals. part number is 200889.where can i get the seals. here is my e mail .harleyman5787@hotmail.com

Most companies have a website that offers repair parts . You'll be asked to enter the model number and serial number to be sure to get the correct parts you'll need. Some websites give you a contact number where you can call them directly to order the parts that you want. Google the manufacturer name. That will put you on the right track. Good luck .Hope this helps you.

Well , i OWN a modified Didier ; 3pt and is selfpower now . MOST parts available from Tractor Supply . pumps , valves and so forth . Most any industrial hydraulic supply can get seals for cylinder , if it leaks.
Nothing quite like a Didier anymore.
