Could it be that the driver was corrupt? Let me send you another from our library. Just remembered something else. It can also be that the driver is "zipped" a most common way to send drivers. If you have the CD, check it inside. It may be that the drivers on the CD are not zipped. You may want to buy, or you may have, a short program called "WinzipXXX.com". Especially when you work with ASUS, which means HP. HP still insists to send out "zipped", which are not "autounzip". This "WinzipXXX.com" will open up your files, unzip them and have them ready for installation. The cost of the "WinzipXXX.com" is US $ 49.99 and they have it on a special for US $ 39.99. You can download it from:
<www.winzip.com>. I think that winzip will be a very good investment for your classes. It used to be totally free like adobe, but now the woners want to make money and the price shown above is per annum. I will check for you to see if there is another freeware program that will do exectly what the winzip does. I am almost sure that this is your problem. HP + ASUS, I have never seen them straight but always zipped. I will confirm all this for you...
My name is Constantin (arzconst is my internal nickname with Fixya.com).

I have ASUS M2N--68 mother board. its sound driver is not getting indstalled in Win Xp SP3. Urgent help required..

hi shreyash, do you having on board audio card mean go to bios and check weather you have disable , if it was disable mean enable it.

If you using internal or external sound card mean, go to bios Disable your onboard audio card , so only your internal or external sound card will work.

And i will give original Asus mn2 motherboard driver , install it and check it once. copy and paste the link i have given below

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=0pKBwEIE8tqMT4j7

or click here

After page get loaded scroll down, click download in tab and select your OS and download your Drivers.

About windows setup

Hi niket_shah, sorry but you're board Asus M2N-MX, does support Win XP SP2.
Chances are that while installing windows updates one or more updates failed. People like myself know from repairing PC's which updates need to be installed first. If you're Win XP SP2 did not or would not install than either the Win CD is not a valid Microsoft Win XP SP2 CD or (You have a copy) & there is something wrong with the CD. After a fresh (New install) of Win XP with SP2 there is more than 90+ updates for SP2 which must be downloaded through windows update program. Or you're windows will not function properly.
Just to show you what versions of windows the M2N-MX board does support. Click the link listed below. Once the link loads click the + sign next to Audio. Scroll down the page an notice the different Window version listed for you're board.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=M2N-MX&SLanguage=en-us
To recap this issue. The problem is either the WinCD or possibly you're hard drive. Make sure you allow windows to perform a full format before installing window. (Not a quick format).

Audio driver problem

You should install the Chips drivers or intall all the driver in series listed in your CD Utilities. Its good if you download the latest drivers of your system at www.asus.com or here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

You should download for 64x2 drivers.
