Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 Digital Camera
When I try to use the zoom button it gives me the error Turn the power off and on again. What can I do to possibly try to fix this?
The unit attempts to get the lens into a known position when the power is first turned on. If this fails to complete properly, the message you see will be displayed. It is hoped that the power off/on/reset will cure the problem. Since the message appears all the time, the zoom/fucus motor is either stuck or the mechanism is jammed. Some people say to gnetly tap the side of the unit while the power-on sequence is running. This may be enough to release the gearing. Short of that working, I would recommend that you take this to a service center. They will clean and relube the gears inside.
