Question about 1997-1998 Honda Civic 4 Door Sedan Distributor and Wire Set for L4

I have a heater hose that comes from heater valve where does this hose go

I can find no where to put this hose please help

Either goes to the heater pipe inlet or the motor near the theremostat out let pipe.

Monitor heater keeps shutting off why?

78 olds uses a push and pull water controle on the heater hose. Make sure that the cable is working the water valve on.the heater hose. If it is working the valve back and forth then its most likley your heater core stopped up.. take both heater hoses off at the motor. Take your garden hose and flush water threw heater core. USE LOW PRESSURE.. DO NOT TURN YOUR GARDEN HOSE.ON FULL BLAST.. IT COULD MAKE THE HEATER CORE TO START LEAKING IN SIDE YOUR CAR. With.low pressure run water in each.heater hose.till water coming out looks clean. If this dont get you heat. Then check.your thermastat it may be stuck open.

I have a 1985 cutlass suprem an I put a new heater motor an a new heater core an now I do not have no heat can u please tell me what the problem with the heat can it be the valve door not open or what need...

Have you checked your heater control valve? After running your engine and letting it get to operating temp, touch the heater hoses and make sure they feel hot to and from the heater core up near the firewall. If they are not hot then water/coolant is not circulating. It could be the heater control valve or it could be that someone has crossed up the heater hoses and has then both on a push side. See, you must have a push and return side on the coolant lines or the water will not flow. These older models could have 3 or more heater hose hookups on them and if someone has switched them around water will not flow right. Hope this helps.

I have problem heating the back seat section, the blowers are ok, but only cold air comes out. Please help!

Check and see if some one has bypassed heater core hoses. If they have theirs a goo bet the heater core leaked and needs replacement befor new hoses can be installed. Depending on year there is a valve in heater core line that tells hot water to flow it maybe stuck or no signal to valve is being recieved. If its operated by a vaccume hose make sure its not broken. This may require you access the heater control panel in dash make sure vaccume is being recieved and that hose to heater valve holds vaccume. If vehicle is a later model then control panel maybe electronic and electrical diagrams necessary to futher diag.

No heat

First check to make sure you have enough coolant in your system. If you so, has your car's engine been running at its normal temperature according to its gauge? If it has, then you most likely have an issue with your heater core valve. If your heater fan turns on, and the engine is warm, but cold air comes out the vents, then you might not be getting any hot coolant to your heater core. There is valve that controls the amount of hot water that flows through your heater core. It is controlled by your heater controls. On other chrysler made vehicles, these are often vacuum controlled valves. You can locate the valve under the hood by following the heater hoses that pass through the firewall (not to be confused with the AC hoses). The heater hoses are low pressure, and will use simple hose clamps. The valve in question is where you will find four of these heater hoses all coming together, along with a small vacuum line. You can check for vacuum to the valve by pulling the line with the car running, and have someone turn the heater from hot to cold and back while you check for suction at the end of the line. If it seems to work, put it back on the valve and see if the valve operates properly. If you have vacuum, and the valve does not operate, then its actuator likely has a bad diaphragm and will need replaced.

Heater only blows Very luke warm air on low speeds. when the speed is increased to 3-5 the heat goes away and it only blows cold air. Any suggestions

Read all of these instructions before starting this job.
First test your heater core for flow by disconnecting both heater core hoses from motor and forcing air from an air compressor into one of them watching for flow from the other. If you have no flow then you may need to backflush your heater core - it is possible you have blockage in it. Your local auto parts store has a backflush kit you can buy that will have a backflush valve ( to be added to your supply heater core hose ) and an additive to put in your coolant system. The kit will not include new coolant so you will need to get that too. Install valve and connect a garden hose.Run motor specified time in the kit. Remove lower hose from your radiator and turn on the water from the hose full blast. Watch the coolant coming out from your radiator to see if any chunky stuff comes out - also watch for the color of the flow. Run water until it comes out clear, then shut off water and disconnect garden hose. Allow system to drain, reconnect radiator hose and cap flush valve. Refill coolant system, turn heat on high and run motor until it is warm. Top off coolant in radiator ( be careful - the pressure may cause coolant to spray out when you remove cap - put a rag over the cap before you remove slowly). If you do not have warm air at this point you may have a bubble in the heater core and may need to block rear wheels then raise the front of the vehicle until the radiator cap is higher than the heater core. Restart vehicle and turn heater on high . Check coolant level in radiator and top off, then cap radiator and shut off motor. Lower vehicle and start again with heater on high. If you still have no heat then your heater core may be plugged. To check, remove both heater hoses from motor and force air from an air compressor into one of the hoses, watching for flow from the other hose - if no flow then core is plugged and needs to be replaced, but if you have flow then you still have an air bubble in the system and need to purge using the above steps until you have heat.

Leaking water heater, the spout on the side is dripping water all over the basement floor.

You can try fixing this problem by putting a garden hose cap over end of valve.
Cap has a washer.
If leak is bad, you need to replace drain valve.

If the valve is brass, then drain water heater and put a wrench on valve and unscrew.
Buy replacement brass valve from plumbing supply or Lowes-HomeDepot


If the valve is plastic, then expect it to break off when trying to remove.
If it breaks off, then you can carefully drill out the stem, and then burn it out with a torch and use a 3/4" pipe nipple to try to cut a new thread.

If water heater will not drain ... put washing machine hose on water heater valve - run water hose between washing machine hose and outdoor spigot and turn on water for 10 seconds to break open clog inside water heater.

I have a 1984 cadillac deville small plastic piece inline with heater core hoses leaking back of air filter on top...what is this piece called?

probably your heater control valve. below is a replacement from autozone, but yours may look different. If it isn't the control valve, maybe it's a splice someone put in. The control valve is the only thing that comes stock in the heater hose.

Need to find heater hose to shut off heater flow

There are two heater hoses,that go into the firewall into the car,just use a valve to put inline to shut the flow off,ether,or both is better,you will find them,besides the ac lines,they are the only ones going into the firewall.If this was at all helpful,please rate thank you.

When the engine is cold,check the coolant level.

Make sure it's on max.


A coolant system should be flush every two years.


If you did a coolant flush recently then air pocket can be the cause of the un-even heating problem.

The DIY method is to drive you car onto a ramp or a steep hill.

Iet the engine cool off and top off the coolant tank.

Set MAX heat + MAX fan

Let the engine ran for 20 minutes wih the cap off and the trap air will escape from the coolant reserve tank,

Check coolant level and top off coolant when the engine cools down.

A shop will charge $75+ for this but using an air operated excavate tool!


A car with over 90K miles may experience linkage problem to the heater control valve.

The heater control valve (near the firewall) may be stick over time.

Open the hood and move the heater to max and min. Back and forth.

Clean and lube the linkage with WD-40 to free the heater control valve.

If it's a vacuum type heater control valve then cash for leaky vac. hoses.

Move the fan switch back and forth to re-new the electrical conductors.

Pass a vacuum over the control panel to prevent dust build up behind the console.

The heater core may be stopped up.Remove bothe heater hoses from the heater core,and use a water hose to flush out the heater core.Put the water hose up against one heater core pipe,it will come out the other pipe.Make sure the vent door inside the car is moving when you select heat,If I can help,any further,please let me know.>>
