I have a Model# SSR-EP10 IR compressor that wants to start loaded, if I release the load it fills up and then cuts off with out going to unload and then when it calls for air it try to start loaded.

How are you unloading it? There is an unloader valve that is usually a manual lever connected to the regulator. 0531-051 - DIAPHRAGM,UNLOADER for Ingersoll Rand compressors

What would cause load unload sump pressure?

Is this a rotary screw unit? Was it low unloaded sump pressure? If so the most probable cause is the minimum pressure check valve located under the aluminum cap on the seperater tank (oil tank). The check valve piston binds in the housing due to rust, dirt, etc. If you are going to attempt the repair your self I would recommend purchasing rebuild kit before disassembly.
If this problem is with a 2475 unit I would look at the pressure switch. If you are saying the unit starts/stops/starts etc and it is equiped with a low oil level switch the oil level is low. fill it to the oil fill plug threads.

Hard starting does this model have an unloader

There are two types of unloaders used on IR compressors. One is oil pressure controlled, and second is manually activated for starting. According to the photo and model number provided, yours is manually operated. Follow air line from compressor to tank. The pilot valve (brass valve) between airline and tank is a multi-function component. There is a flip leaver or pull ring w/ hold that unloads the compressor by venting air thru small muffler. The valve also contains the check-valve holding pressure in the tank, a means of adjusting pressure and controlls throttle for engine. For easy start, flip leaver upright and start; to run, flip leaver to right angle of stem.

How much oil does the 2475 hold

A 2475 has no way to tell how much oil is in it other than removing the oil fill plug and looking unless a low oil level switch has been installed. You should fill this unit to the bottom of the oil fill plug threads. It's less than 2 quarts. IR does have a spec sheet that tells the exact amount. I don't have it available right now!

My compressor 2475 ir (5hp) has no dip stick or oil level glass;only oil cap.how much oil is needed for proper level?

In the owners information your compressor takes the 1 bottle of IR oil that comes with it. If you have a local tractor supply company or another company who carries IR you might check with them, it is the only oil i would recommend for your unit.

I have a IR 2475 compressor that is only a year or two old. It is making a lot of noise so I started an investigation and discovered the crankshaft bearing is very loose allowing the flywheel to move up...

If that is the only problem with it you can just replace the crank case bearings , there are 2 of them both will run you about $ 30.00 plus shipping

Correct rotation of copressor

Checked all the IR compressors in stock and all turn counter-clockwise facing pulley, however you could check the pump for fan angle on pulley. The fan on the compressor pulley blows air towards the pump. Generally, pumps turn CC because that would allow for the use of gasoline engines which all turn CC. Please email you questions, and Good Luck.
