I want to connect my Bose ps28 iii to another reciever. How and what do I need to make this possible. If I run a av left right to the unit will the reciever turn the unit (bose woofer) on.

The media center plug is wired to carry your left/right signal for front and rear along with reference and turn on voltage. Here's a link to the media center cable pinout images. If you have the connector you can pigtail in your high level inputs (speaker out from the amp you want to use to the corresponding pins. However, I can't guarantee this will work. Bose makes these cables proprietary for a reason... to make money. If hillrods like you and I can easily hack their stuff then they wouldn't be able to overcharge for their goodies. Here's the pinout link anyway. Good luck! http://www.google.com/patents/EP1605637A2?cl=en

Can I connect a Bose lifestyles PS28 woofer to a PC without the Bose Control or brains? How?

You probably can if you're patient. Here's a link to the media connector pinout. You'll have to cut a 3.5mm cable and tap into the left/right audio signals (Z1 or Z2). I'm not sure if the sub will stay on without the 10v on signal or not. That will be another problem to solve once you've tested the 3.5mm connection. Use the schematics provided in the patent link to make your connections. http://www.google.com/patents/EP1605637A2?cl=en

How do I test the Bose ps28 3 sub woofer without any other bose components?

Thats a toughie because that system is well..a system. They build those so that each component runs through that main circuit board there and then thru the outs on the sub--I would look for a used player that you can hook it up to or pass on it.

Need to replace pigtail fuse

This may not be a fuse. Bose uses devices like this as "speaker protection". If this device is wired to the woofer, that is exactly what it is. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

My bose ps28 is making a rattling noise whenever bass is involved. How do i fix it?

You have lost the sponge roll surround of your subwoofer ( suspension ). Its known as foam rot.
Either you can buy new woofer drivers for the subwoofer or repair the surround alone. Kits are available. But you will need some technical skill.Check out this link.

Bose wave radio wont turn on

I have one that is doing the same thing. Will your radio make a POP sound when you unplug it? I was told by Bose Tech it is 15 yrs old and they will not work on it. He told me that if it makes a POP sound that it is not the fuse or power supply???

No power up

Considering that power is present, popping sound is caused by a faulty Q401, 5V supply for display.

Good Luck.
