Need to see a diagram on wireing fore elect starter

Did you take pictures before you took it apart, or did you tag wires before unconnecting them.

when looking at it from the front the most left is from the battery, now going right from there the little pin is from ignition, basically to flip this giant switch on. next little pin goes to your fuel shut off relay, it will turn on that relay to send power to your pump while cranking, next is the large out. far right. that goes to your starter.

the top two wires dont matter a solenoid is just a switch when you send juice to the solenoid via the small wire it connects the two on the top

I dont have a diagram here at home but first check if at the starter, the wires on the big stud are somehow touching the wire for the small bolt. is voltage from the large bolt, goes to the little bolt, that energizes the starter.

you need to source either the repair manual for them
or just the ignition wiring diagram and wire colour legend for the 1980 and 1985 alfa spider
to see if wire colours are different

at the minimum
there should be two power wires in with start and accessories an earth
not sure if a starter relay was used in the 85
