Question about Sony VAIO VPCL214FXB 24Inch AllinOne Desktop
Additional Details to:I am unable to disable-by-touch the BEZEL SENSOR of my VAIO VPCL 214FX/B, is there another way? A. OS is WIN 7 Premium,64 bit. B.I made #47 attempts to Touch-To-Disable BEZEL SENSOR per User Guide, specifically: i. I attempted to touch-for-2+-seconds the "Touch for additional shortcuts" area located in lower right corner of the display per User Guide; ii. Instead of changing the display from Desktop View to Guide View & stopping so the Touch-To-Disable action can be accomplished, iii. display rapidly switched from Desktop-to-Guide View-to Desktop-etc. C. Attempt #48 resulted in the display stopping on Guide View. However, none of the descriptions of the various Active Areas of the BEZEL revealed anything re. disabling it. D. I purchased this all in one for my BRIDE of 50+ years who has issues re. hand/eye control. Instead of helping her I have a machine that is negatively reinforcing her Self Concept. SOURCE: lightning in area. Cable
Most likely the power surge generated by the lighting has fried the network chip - you will have to replace the wireless card in the desktop. You can easily check for that by booting from a Linux Live-cd and try to use it in there.
