Vivicam 128 F no shutter

Vivicam 128 F, does it have any lens protection? I put the batteries in correctly and turned it on, went through the setup. I then took a picture, viewed the picture and turned the camera off. The glass lens was still open...no cover, unprotected from dust, dirt, etc. is this normal for this camera. I called the sakar number, gave the model #, and was told to remove batteries and reinsert to activate lens protection???Still no closure of lens glass. Does the Vivicam 128 F have ability to close lens?

Hi cda_graham
Usually it is a flat battery which causes this problem. You have to put in new battery once again and try.

Good luck

Protective lense shutter is stuck partially closed, causing black corners in the photos. How do I fix this, or remove the shutter completely?

This blog post outlines repair procedures for stuck lens covers. An A400 is used as an example. But for the A610, you might want to extend your zoom all the way out before removing the camera's batteries. Note that the A610 has four shutter leaves instead of two, so pay particular attention how they're assembled if you remove the lens ring. Also you'll be applying the ring loosening rubbing alcohol around the barrel's perimeter instead of the front as shown in the procedures. One other thing, try not to get any alcohol on the lens itself:

Good luck, and remember to do this only as a very last resort (try the other listed procedures first). Oh, and if you do decide to try the repair, please post how it went.

The shutter is stuck on my vivitar 3746 and won't turn on or respond in any way. what can i do?

This always happens on mine when the batteries are low or taking them out while lens is extended. What I had to do was take it apart and manually wind back in the lens via the gears that extend it. Hope this helps. Otherwise the camera is rendered useless.

Shutter will not close!

very small dust particals are the reason of this problem.I m suggesting an idea but apply it on your own risk.Keep camera in off position then slightly strick with ur fingernale around the lens ring evenly. This can make the lens shutter contrct.Once the shutter closed, clean gently with a painting brush over the edges where shutter slides from.do this for several times so that any hard dust partical causing may removed.do not insert anything inside.
