IC's I am also having the blinking red light but no picture problem. What does an IC look like? and how many are there in the Toshiba 53H71. Thanks

Yes, the convergence IC's need to be replaced. If you are not experienced in TV repair, I would recommend getting a qualified repair man to do it for you.

Toshiba 51 inch theatre view Blinking red light -- no sign of picture or sound


Had the same problem on my 42in. and it ended up being 2 of the fuses and 1 board had to be replaced.About 900dallars worth of work,it was covered under warr.

Blinking red light


I am in the same boat as you are. My wife and I had watched the Steeler MNF game yesterday evening and today when I went to turn on the Pens game, all I got was a blinking red light and a "power on" sound...wtf...Can anyone help? I'm definitely not a techie nor have I ever soldered anything...

Either the convergence or cracked sautering. Just had my tv repaired but now I have a double blur in the upper left corner.

Red Blinking light


if you have some knowledge about the toshiba tv you may get it to work there are some resoldering and you have to replace 2 ic along with 2 fuses

Look carefully at metal jumpers feeding b+ to convergence IC's.

Both will need re-soldering or you will keep having problems.
