What is the treatment of mumps in children?

Quoting from the web internet link shown:

Lifestyle and home remedies If you or your child has mumps, time and rest are the best treatments. There's little your doctor can do to speed recovery. But you can take some steps to ease pain and discomfort and keep others from becoming infected.
  • Rest in bed until the fever goes away.
  • Isolate yourself or your child to prevent spreading the disease to others. Someone with mumps may be contagious up to a week after the onset of signs and symptoms.
  • Take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory **** such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) to ease symptoms. Adults may also use aspirin. Use caution when giving aspirin to children or teenagers. Children and teenagers recovering from flu-like symptoms should never take aspirin. This is because aspirin has been linked to Reye's syndrome, a rare but potentially life-threatening condition, in such children.
  • Use a warm or cold compress to ease the pain of swollen glands.
  • For boys, wear an athletic supporter and use cold compresses to ease the pain of tender testi***.
  • Avoid foods that require lots of chewing. Instead, try broth-based soups or soft foods, such as mashed potatoes or cooked oatmeal, for nourishment.
  • Avoid sour foods, such as citrus fruits or juices, which stimulate saliva production.
  • Drink plenty of fluids.
If your child has mumps, watch for complications. Call your doctor if your child develops:
  • Fever of 103 F (39 C) or greater
  • Trouble eating or drinking
  • Confusion or disorientation
  • Abdominal pain

Can my 4weekold baby get scarlet fever

Yes a baby can get it. My son was just diagnosed with it. I thought he was having an allergic reaction to a new food I tried him on and noticed a couple hours later he broke out in a rash all over his body. The doctor looked him over and said that he had scarlet fever. I'd like to know how on earth he contracted it though. They put him on some antibiotics for 10 days. He is 4 months old.
Hope this helps Nick

Please do yourself and your child a favor and call a doctor. It won't be scarlet fever, but I think it is more than an ordinary cold.

Can I pass scarlet fever from one child to another if I see them a day apart?

Probably not.
How to prevent scarlet fever from spreading The rash itself is not contagious. Still, scarlet fever can spread easily to family members and your child's classmates if your child sneezes, coughs or exhales near them. Any child or adult who lives in your home and has similar symptoms in the next five days after exposure should have a throat swab.
Your child is no longer contagious after they have been on antibiotics for 24 hours. That means your child can return to school after one day if they are feeling better.

Other tips to prevent spreading the infection include:

  • washing hands with warm soapy water
  • not sharing drinking glasses or eating utensils with friends or classmates
  • washing your child's dining utensils and drinking glasses in hot soapy water or a dishwasher
  • sneezing into the elbow or covering the mouth and nose when coughing.
