I have hp e-pc 42, when i turn on the power switch i only hear a beeping sound and there is no light even the fan is not turning, i have checked the original power adaptor it has the right voltage as stated at its label, help
Most power pc supplies either have a 12vdc and a 5vdc rail which have built in fuses (internally) also if any componets are not seated correctly in your pc the system will not boot . recently had similar problem due to loose graphics card

1. Remove all connections from the computer including the power cable

3. Only hook up the mouse, keyboard, monitor and power cable
4. Turn the computer
Need some more info:
Does the screen come on?
-What is on the screen?
--What happens when it fails?
Does a light come on the tower?
-Does a light come on in the power supply (where the computer plugs into the wall)?
Do you hear any beeping?
Do you hear any fans going?
Does the power supply fan (Where the computer plugs into the wall) try to start & fail?
-Or does it not try at all?
sound to me like a video problem. no beep codes, you hear the fan going so it must be posting. could you try with other monitor and or cable? is there power to monitor? reseat cable at both ends( monitor+ pc)
*You may or may not see a light on the back of your PC depending on the kind of power supply you have and the exact cause of the problem.(monitor light will likely be amber/yellow if your computer has stopped sending information to it)
*The power lights will stay on, you'll likely hear the fans inside your PC running, and you may or may not hear one or more beeps coming from the computer. If you hear beep sound, check your physical connections to the PC like RAM, Monitor, Cpu, Keyboard.
Did you hear a sound beeping. If you can hear a sound beeping it is a RAM problem. But if there is no sound beeping that is a processor problem. Remove the processor and clean make sure that the processor fan is spinning so that it will control the temperature of the CPU to avoid overheating.
Normally the computer will still come on even if the fan is not there but then will sometime display cpu fan warning and then sometimes turn off depending on motherboard and so on but unless the fan wires are shorted out or something this is most likely not the case It sounds like your power supply has gone bad Do you hear any type of winning sound or like a discharge sound that is barely noticeable when you turn it on? You would probably almost have to put your ear right next to it to hear it or listen carefully when you press power because that sound is one of the capacitors in the power supply that has gone bad and the power supply would need to be replaced Do you have another power supply you can use to see if it works with a different one?
Is the pc has blinking power in it. or do your hear any beeping sounds? but anyway you can do check your PC. unplug the pc and open the system. remove and clean the memory and insert it again. and fix all connection inside the pc maybe some cable lessen. after that test the pc. and then tell me what happen i will give you more solution in it. melnavz
