This is a financial/business calculator not a scientific one.

Like many other Casio calculators, the fx-83GT Plus doesn't provide the modulus function. You have to do it the hard way.

To calculate 19 MOD 10 (which is 9, not 10 as you state in your question), first divide 19 by 10 and note the integer portion of the result (in this case, 1). Then subtract from 19 the product of 10 and the result of the first step. The result of the subtraction is the modulus. 19 - (1*10) = 9.

Divide 121 by 187. Subtract the integer portion (in this case, 0). Multiply by 187.

The lack of a modulus function is a serious flaw in that generation of Casio calculators.

To enter the MOD( function on the command line:

Example: MOD(278,9)=8

An alternative way is to use the Catalog.

- Press Menu
- Press 1 or select icon Run>Mat.
- In Run>Mat screen, press the OPTN key.
- Press F6> to pan through the other options.
- Select F4:Num and press F6:> to get other tabs
- Press F4:MOD

Example: MOD(278,9)=8

An alternative way is to use the Catalog.

- Press [Shift][4] (catalog)
- Press [ALPHA][7] to jump to letter M
- Scroll down from there to reach the MOD( command.

Actually, the answer is 79.

The fx-115ES does not have a key for the modulus operation. Nor does it have an integer-part or fractional-part operation. However, it is possible to calculate the remainder using integer arithmetic.

Press MODE 4 to shift into integer mode. Then type in 3 5 2 - 9 1 * ( 3 5 2 / 9 1 ) = and see the answer 79. It's a pain as both numbers have to be entered twice, but it does get the job done.

To get back to working with real numbers again, press MODE 1 ( or MODE 2 for complex).

there is one button ab/c beneath CALC... if u want to calculate 7 mod 4 then... u should press 7 then ab/c 4 and equal to

u get 1,3,4 and ans is center number... result=3..

u get 1,3,4 and ans is center number... result=3..

This
calculator does not support the modulus operation directly, you have to
simulate by a divide followed by a subtraction and a multiplication.
Suppose you want to calculate 256 mod 17:

- Key in 256 [÷] 17 [=] and get the result 15,0588...
- Note the 15 in front of the decimal separator and key in [−] 15 [=]
- Get the modulus: [×] 17 [=], result should be 1.
