SOURCE: timer counts down. Microwave keeps going

It is a bad door switch, or the keypad control board is the issue.

Timer stops after 60sec when preheating. Eventually after pressing several individual minutes it reaches preheat temp then will cook for whatever time I want

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

  1. Main control boardIf your microwave runs for a few seconds and stops, the first thing to check is the main control board to ensure that a shortage has not occurred. If the part is defective then it will need to be replaced to prevent continual shut offs. If this is not the issue, the next step would be to check for a faulty touchpad.
  2. Touchpad/Control panelIf the control board is not the issue and your microwave continues to shut off after running for only a few seconds, the next thing to check is your touchpad, which is also known as a control panel. Although uncommon for this issue, symptoms are usually that the display and some buttons are working properly; however, when selected some buttons are not functioning. If this is the case the touchpad will need to be replaced.

Micowave continues running after time is up

This can be two things that I know of 1 is a timer defect and the other is someone has placed some type of metal ie utensil, foil, can whatever into the microwave - either way you should replace the microwave and its a fire hazard to your home and others around you and the cost of a new unit is not worth the losses a fire can bring.

Round soft key OXO Timer I need to change the clock time their model # is 1061978

Operating functions:
To set the clock, press and hold the clock/timer button for three seconds. A clock icon will appear on the left side of the screen. Input the time using the numerical buttons and then click the clock/timer button to save the time.
To set the timer, press and release the clock/timer button so that the display shows all zeroes. Enter the desired time using the keypad. Press start/stop to start the countdown. The countdown may be paused by pressing the stop/start button and resumed by pressing the same button again.
When countdown is complete, timer will beep continuously for thirty seconds and display will flash. Timer will then beep every ten seconds for ten minutes until the stop/start button is pressed.
This timer will also time up to time activities. To start count up, press clear/memory so timer reads all zeroes. Press stop/start and a plus sign will appear on the right side of the screen as the timer begins counting up.

Occassionally (about 5% of the time) the microwave continues to cook and buzz after the timer has run out and the fan stops running.

sounds like the program bord is faulty,, when your finished cooking leave the door open a little that will save the microwave from trying to cook nothing?
