THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION WAS FOUND OUT BY MYSELF BY VISITING A REPAIR / SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND MAKING ENQUIRIES CONCERNING THE DC OUTPUT OF THE AC ADAPTER ASSOCIATED WITH THE WESTERN DIGITAL, MY BOOK 250GB USB. tHE VOLTAGES ARE THESE. : - AC INPUT = 100 - 240 VOLTS 50/60 HZ
DC OUTPUT = 12 VOLTS ( REGULATED ) 2 - 0 A
CENTER PIN OF 12 VOLT DC INPUT PLUG IS " POSITIVE "

Hi, remove the machines cover with the machine unplugged then look for disconencted plugs etc within the machine. careful where you place your bare hands.

The output of your adapter is 12volts 1.5amps the outside terminal is negative polarity and your connector looks like this (see below)
There are two options of adapter (see below) both will work

When your R-134a runs too low it will NOT engage the compressor. You need to refill your a/c system before the clutch will engage, I also suggest finding the leak.

### What or how does the battery get its charge

Most bike have an alternator driven off the left-hand crankshaft shaft.
This turns with the engine, producing the AC charging power.
This power then runs through a voltage regulator, that both converts the the AC voltage into DC voltage, and regulates the amount of voltage flowing into the remaining electrical system.

Now, you did do the first step correctly.
DC volt meter to battery terminals to see if you get 13-14 volts DC with engine running.
Next, locate voltage regulator and unplug connector for wires coming FROM the regulator, and hook up the DC voltmeter.
With engine running, you should have 13-14 (or so) DC volts.

If not, locate and unplug wires coming from alternator to regulator, and hook up AC (note change from DC to AC) voltmeter.
With engine running, should have AC voltage (this could be 20-40 volts or more).

This will let you know where the problem is, and what needs to be replaced.

2) Substitute thermostat instead of timer for switching control.

3) I don't know what thermostat you have, or if it's functioning or the rating.

4) Which contactor do you have?
Do you have a 3-phase contactor??
Or two-pole single phase contactor?

5) Match thermostat output voltage with contactor voltage:
Thermostat output is 24 volt? Then use 24Volt coil on contactor.
Thermostat output 120 or 277 > then use contactor with same coil rating.

I don't understand description of your wiring.
Add a comment and compare with illustrations sent, so I can visualize ... or attach photo and/or give product numbers so maybe I can locate wiring diagrams.

As far as voltage regulation goes there isn't any external devise to do this. This voltage voltage regulation take place inside the alternator after the three phase AC voltage is turn into none regulated DC voltage. Now this DC voltage goes thru a voltage regulator that built into the alternator where the output DC voltage is 13.8 to 14.1 DC Volts. Hello. Install amp meter on the battery main feed. One the amp meter is coupled by direct or induced coupling. Start remove the fuses and watch the amp meter and when the amp meter indicator drops that one of the circuit that have some shorted or running. Now they can be more than one circuit that is operating when it shouldn't.

First thing with the amp meter connect disconnect the alternator. Do get wrong here. It a percaution if you happen to concur a large short. Also, when disconnecting the alternator look at the amp meter to see if there is a drop in current being used.

An alternator is a three phase AC generator. There are 6 to 8 high current diodes hook up where it turn the three phase AC voltage to DC voltage half wave + side of the AC. Then this DC voltage being combined voltages goes to a regulator which smooth out the voltage to 13.8 volts approx. The 13.8 DC voltage is need to recharge the battery. Because the vehicle operates on 12 voltage system it uses the battery for the constant voltages of 12 volts and a story house of current. stewbison

Sounds like regulator in side panel rear LHS or Alternator or both if battert is able to hold a charge. volt meter on DC setting with bike on idel should give 13.8 volts and rise to at least 15 Volts and no more at 3000rpm. if not disconnect 3 yellow wires into the regulator test the 3 wires running away back to the alternator on AC setting. This is 3 phase AC test i the following pattern terminal 1-2 1-3 2-3 with bike ideling shoul give 15-20volts AC. at 4000 rpm voltage should rise to 56-60 volts AC. With bike turned off test resistance in Ohms. Between phases should be no more than 8 ohms and between each phase to each shold be zero or infinity. if you get any other than the above then you have found your issue. regards Mr.T

Hi, you're Rectofier has failed if you have A/C voltage and no D/C voltage. This is what converts A/C volts to D/C volts. If you have a diagram or any parts manual, you can locate this part and replace it. You will need to go to a place that repairs these chargers, or where you bought it to order or but a new one.

You cannot wire a three phase motor for single phase and you cannot wire a single phase motor for three phase. If you have a three phase dual voltage motor your options are 220 or 440 volts. If you have a single phase dual voltage motor your options are 120 or 240 volts. A 208 volt Hobart motor will only function correctly on 208 volts and is not dual voltage.

Hi,
If the generator hasn't been used for awhile the rotor may have lost it's magnetism. All you need is to re-excite it. There are several websites that explain how to do this. It's a good place to start.
