Question about Dishwashers
My 3 year old dishwasher will not start after you make your selection on what wash you want.I checked the door switch and float switch and they are ok.I changed the CPU board (It cost $74.00 on Ebay) and its still doing the same thing.I think it is the touch pad.I can not check the touch pad because the engineers that designed them made it so you can"t.I can not buy the start/display/detail touch pad unless I buy the whole complete thing that cost about $137.00.I am pretty good at fixing things but I am loosing my hair over this one.
If you think its the button...this can't hurt anything...Take a writing pen on the back end and push hard...If it clicks on a least you know the problem. I do this at gas stations that have these same kind if buttons....They get old and your finger want engage your selection... Just something to do before you go buy the whole panel.

ok under the bottom kick-plate you will find a tech sheet first id start with where my power comes in under the kick plate second remove the front panel and check the door switches third check the control for a fuse or burned wires resistors etc refer to the tech sheet but it sounds to me like a power problem

You definitely have to have a clean......float clean from all debris...it is very typical for the float to cause leaking problems ..as it is an overflow switch....also drying agents...that are used...especially if any is spilled inside will foam up and cause an overflow as well as liquid detergents that are not specified by the maker of your DW....these foam also....(if to much is used)...but the float will not push down on the switch if it is completely free from gunk.
I hope this helps.....good luck...thanks for rating my effort....the Fang.
