Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: acer aspire 4736z with window

Boot to the Windows Recovery Environment (WINRE) for 7 and run the following commands from the command prompt:

c:

cd \windows

cd system32

compact /u c:\

compact /u c:\*.*

x:

bootrec /FixMbr

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /rebuildbcd

exit

This will resolve the issue as the boot loader will no longer be flagged to be compressed, will uncompressed, and then rebuilt.

Bootmgr compressed self fix

At times after enabling / disabling disk compression on Win 7 or Vista boot drive you may receive the Bootmgr is Compressed error upon restarting your computer as displayed below:

BOOTMGR IS COMPRESSED
Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to Restart
1. After rebooting with OS DVD, choose "Repair your Computer" and then select "Startup Repair". Reboot your computer.
2. After rebooting, click on "Load drivers" button an explorer style window will pop up, go ahead and right click on the drive that may have been compressed and deselect `Compress this Drive'. Choose apply and then apply to subfolders/files before rebooting.

There are registry commands also that can be used. But the above 2 steps can be very helpful to start with.

My laptop is 3690 aspire when i open my laptop it tells the "BootMRG" is compressed press ctrl+alt+delete to restart when i restart the same screen,s comes

Hi
Can you tell me which operating system you are running please?

I have seen this problem a number of times and it is usually straight forward to fix.
(in a nutshell, you have compressed your boot drive (usually C drive) in windows, which also compresses your bootmgr file).
There are a couple of ways to uncompress the drive depending on your OS.

If you let me know your OS I will post relevant details for you.

BOOTMGR IS COMPRESSED

After the msg is displayed,
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to continue Try to boot via the Bootable disc, boot to safe mode via the disc and try the folowing
go to dos and try
expand bootmgr temp
attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h

If the above process doesnt works then try,
"Click 'Repair my Computer'
At the prompt to select your OS installation, click the button that says 'Load Drivers'. This should bring up a explorer-style drive browser.
Then just right-click on the drive you tried to compress, and deselect 'Compress this Drive', which should still be ticked on. Hit apply, and apply to subfolders/files.
