Assuming you are correct that the radius is 2' 6" and not the diameter.

Convert the inches to centimetres

1" = 2.54 Cms

Radius = 2' 6" = 30" X 2.54 = 76.2 Cms

Height = 5' 2" = 62" X 2.54 = 157.48 Cms

Volume of cylinder = Pi x radius squared x height

3.142 x 76.2 x 76.2 x 157.48 = 2,873,038.9 cc

Divide by 1000 to find how many litres (interest note 1000cc car engine is 1 litre)

2,873,039 cc / 1000 = 2,873 litres

Are you looking for the volume of the whole range or the volume of the oven in the range?

This site give the standard size as 30" wide, 36" high, and 25" deep. http://homeguides.sfgate.com/standard-kitchen-stove-dimensions-82501.html

This site has the range's owner's manual and gives the installation instructions.

http://www.youserguide.com/wiki/Frigidaire_CFEF357C

Page 5 has some measurements.

To convert the inch measurements into cubic feet, divide by number of cubic inches by 1728, the number of cubic inches in a cubic foot. The cubic inches for a normal stove would be 30" x 36" x 25" or 27,000 cubic inches or 27,000 / 1728 or 15.625 cubic feet.

Good luck.

Paul

Hi Wayne:

For my curious mind, what is the project that you need this for?

To solve the problem, the volume of the pipe is the cross sectional area times the length.

Area = pi r squared.

= 22/7 times .75 / 2 squared

= 3.1428571 times .375 times .375

= o.4419642 square inches

The pipe is 10 feet long, times 12 equals 120 inches long.

The pipe volume is 120 times 0.4419642 equals 53.035704 cubic inches.

The next part of the question is to convert cubic inches to gallons.

I use my Texas Instruments TI-1889

53.035704 to metric, in cubed to cm cubed = 869.09608

Divide by 1,000 equals .86909608 litres

From Metric, imp gal (I'm in Canada) to L = 0.1911781

Ta Da!

Hi Greg:

1 cc equals .0610239 cubic inches. That's messy to work with.

Many engines are now show in litres, which are multiples of 1000 cc .

1000 cc would be 61.0239 cubic inches (moved decimal 3 spaces)

So for any engine, get the displacement in cc and multiply by .O610239.

Example: A 5 litre engine would be 306.195 cubic inches. Close enough to the 305 we know so well.

A litre is the volume of a cube with sides of 10 cm. So for every 1000 cubic cm you have 1 L.

If your 1170 x 450 x 190 is cm, then volume would be 100,035,000 cubic cm which is 100,035 L. If it's some other unit of measurement, you should be able to convert.

If this answer helped, please vote.

If you want to calculate the volume of an object and have the answer in cubic feet.

Volume=Length X Width X Height

With the dimensions you give

Volume=12.5in X 37in X 20in

Volume=9250 cubic inches

To convert 9250 cubic inches into cubic feet you need to understand that there are 1728 cubic inches in 1 cubic foot.

L X W X H = 12"X12"X12"=1728 cu in

You then multiply 9250cu in and (1/1728cu ft) Really you are dividing 9250 by 1728.

your answer is 5.35 cubic feet.

12 inches in 1 foot

144 square inches in 1 square foot

1728 cubic inches in 1 cubic foot

to convert you put the unit you want to keep on top of the dividend.

to conver to to feet ( randomly selecting 100 inches)

Example converting 100 inches to feet

100inches X ____1ft____ = (100/12) = 8.3 feet

12inches

or cubic inches to cubic feet

4000 cubic inches to cubic feet

4000cu in X ____1cu ft____ = ( 2.33 cu ft)

1728 cu in

if you notice that the units on top and bottom of the dividend cancel each other out leaving the numerator (top number) as your unit.

it also works in reverse

2.33 cu ft X ___1728 cu in____ = (4000 cu in)
